Default Squeaky Belot on S/C

Today I noticed that my supercharger's belt was making a high pitch squeaking noise. Would I just need to replace the belt to fix the problem or is it a precursor to a bigger problem? Any help would be appreciated.

Oh ok thats good to here. Do you think that it will be ok if I ran the belt as it for like another 2 weeks because thats when my new pulley will arrive and I can just change the belt then.

Make sure that the belt is aligned properly on all the pulleys. The belt was squealing on my car and eventually popped off. Luckily it happened in my driveway. The pulley was off-center on one of the idler pulleys. I had a friend at the dealership change a couple pulleys and change the shim to the s/c pulley which got the belt aligned properly.

If the belt isn't in the middle of the pulley, then it can cause squeaking. About a quarter of the belt was hanging off the edge of one of the idler pulleys, causing a really bad squeak and sending shreds all over the engine compartment.

I've noticed that the belt hangs off a bit on one of the idler pulleys, I'm going to have to take it in to the dealer and have them check it out, I've noticed a little bit of shreds around that are, thanks for the info.

Happen to me last NOV, one of my idle plulley was bad. I got a idle pulley, and the tc runs great .

Ah, I see. I hope they will still fix mine since I have a supercharger. How much did it cost for you to install your idel pulley at the shop?

the dealer will re-shim the pulleys for you for free. There is a section about doing it correctly in the install instructions. If they refuse point it out to them and tell them they didn't do it right in the first place. ...thats what I did.

That said, ever since I stepped up to the 9.5lb pulley I've had a loud very quick squeak at first start up then it's fine. Belt dressing will usually take care of issues like that.
