Default Stage 0 outlet flange

I bought a used kit and was wondering , what is the small barbed fitting coming off the outlet flange for? tried a search and could find nothing about this. Thanks

Are you talking about the oil return barb fitting? it's on the bottom of the turbo housing

Nope. I know what the oil return is. It is like a little vaccum barb fitting a little bigger than the vac line for the boost gauge. It is located right on the outlet flange atatched to the outer wheel of the turbo.

Yeah how? I would have thought it made more sense for a boost gauge. Maybe i'm dumb , but how can a gauge read boost psi from vacum?

the outlet nipple is the 1st place that will be charged to 5-6psi and you run a line from there to your external wastegate. also for a boost guage you have to use a source that is from the trottle body or the intake manifold. because you need somewhere that will show boost and Vaccume

Unless i have greatly misread , everybody is running a line from the throttle body or the back of the valve cover to the wastegate. Which is correct?

I thought the wastegate needed vacum.

no it does not, when the wastegate reaches the amount of PSI your spring is then the wastegate will open it doesnt have anything to do with vaccum

Not saying your wrong , because obviously i don't have a clue , but why do most people T into the line coming from the back of the valve cover or throttle body. Wouldn't this fitting be the best place then? Which is best? Thanks for helping out.

I prefer t'ing off of the IM for the VAC source for the WG because it takes into account I/C drag and other parasitic losses in the system. As for this fitting, take out the nipple and cap it off.
