Default Vac line to BPV question

What exactly is the purpose of this vac line? My car seems to idle better with it unattached I noticed today. If i leave it attached my BPV (Turbo XS) Starts pulsating like crazy and makes a sound like a very muffled machine gun firing, would anyone know why that would be happening?

It opens the bpv. If your bpv flutters at idle with the vac hose attached it is set too loose. ...it will sometimes flutter under partial load due to uneven pressure.

If I run it with just the spring and no shims it still does it, and it still cant get to full boost. Grr im just going to buy a damn Hybrid forge and move on.

actually, its more important that it doesn't flutter under full load.

I haven't worked out all the kinks with the Splitter yet but adjusting on the fly without having to remove the entire piece is a really nice feature.

I edited my first statement ... I meant to say loose not tight - "If your bpv flutters at idle with the vac hose attached it is set too loose." If it flutters at full-boost throttle lift, this is typically an indication that the valve is adjusted too tight.

Its not really adjustable besides adding shims to the spring.
