Default Stock tC ... oh god here comes the goodies

Ok.. I got a stock tC about two weeks ago..im already in love. I've been browsing the forums past few days, just confirmed my registration and here I am.

My car has the spoiler, ground effects kid, and 18 wheels + tires. I do not know a lot about cars, I come more from the motocross background, I've been racing since I was 3 .. quit about two years ago. March 12th was my b-day. Got a car...yeah, im spoiled.

My dad didn't get me anything for x-mas, so he said he'll double down for my b-day. I plan on turboing my scion Tc...ive been looking at the Denzo and the Turbonetics kits..both very nice.

My question is, what should I get before I get the turbo kit?? Please be as specific as possible...and I plan on getting the lowered springs before anything.

THX in advance.

Congrat son the new car man! As far as parts you might consider before a turbo, other than the lowering springs i would suggest a new clutch like an ACT. Other than that the turbo kits come with everything you'll need. Keep us posted on your project man!

What about headers / pipe? I want my car to be sleek, fast..nothing tacky and very clean.

No rasp, I found a couple nice exhaust systems on here but I dont know what to do as far as headers.

My cousins got a Subaru Impreza that hes gonna start building and I want

me > him :D

PS: I'll get pics of my car soon, im going to the Turbonetics open ... since I live 10 minutes away. Hopefully I'll win.

If you decide to run a turbo setup, you will not need a header.. that is what the turbo manifold is for. I would seriously suggest getting maybe your clutch and flywheel replaced.. Clutchmasters has a nice setup.. I currently have the CM Stage II clutch in my tC and love it. Good luck bro.

u dont need headers if your're gonna turbo, because its gonna be a turbo turbo manifold that is gonna be replacing the where the headers usually is. and Congrats on the new ride and welcome to the scionlife haha

If i've come to any conclusions on this topic, its all about prepping the car for F/I.

You'll want a good suspension so your can can handle the speeds. Lets admit it. Who is going to turbo their car and not hit the corners kinda hard ;)

Second, you'll need your baby to be able to breath better. That means a new s-pipe back exhaust of some kind. People say stock 2.25 is fine, others say 3inches is good. It alall depends on application i guess.

You want your tranny to hold up, yes? Gonna need a better clutch, and while you're in there yanking stuff out pof your drivetrain you might as do the Flywheel.

Tires, Tires, Tires.

Finally, choose your F/I. YYou want to maintain your warranty for sure, go with the TRD S/C. If you're not so worried about Toyota finding reasons to void your engine warrenty (not that it will happen, but you know, they'll try) get a turbo. And you got a few choices here.

Hey, a port/polish wouldn't hurt ya at this point.

Now, if you really have money to blow you might consider the turbo pistons and head upgrade from ZPI. Add in some motor mounts or a stiffy.

All comes down to, how much you gonna blow?

Megan Racing Cat-Back I believe is the exhaust im going to go with. I'll probably be getting that within the next week along with the springs. It will be quite some time until I get the turbokit, but when I do I'll be sure to upgrade my clutch / flywheel.

What is the difference between the Denzod Turbokit and the Turbonetics turbo??

What would you suggest and why...

Pics tonight!

With respect to exhaust for turbo exhaust, here is our new V2 Turbo, which also looks just like the new N/A:

Hey Paul, is it possible to install the Turbo V1 or V2 exhaust without having a turbo, but have plans on adding one in the future? Also how much louder is the V2 exhaust than the V1 exhaust? Thanks for your time Paul!

Well, all of our exhausts mate to the stock or 2.5" s-pipe, so yes you can rock one until your turbo'd.

The V2 is actually about the same loudness if not quieter than the V1.
