ok so i was playen last night and well i went to race a svt focus from a dead stop he wouldn't but from a 60 roll he did and he had me by a 1/4 panel till 100 then i pulled away from him ..............is this normal or would i of had him off the line

You should have pulled him, unless he had bolt ons.

SVT focus runs 15.8 i believe. So i would guess he had some work done, or he was a better driver than you. You still shouldnt street race.

 

handling wise the svt focus is very very highly rated. I was supried to read that but its true.

 

Stock tC should beable to take the SVT focus, judging by the numbers. However, the svt focus will kill the tC on a road track, autoX, rally; it does handle like a champ!

The SVT Focus doesnt really get the credit it deserves. It doesnt make the most HP but it handles far better than the tC.

 

ya. fords get a lot of hate. especially the humble focus.

 

There is a Jackson Racing S/C version of the SVT Focus, 200hp. It was probably that. What gear did you start in... 3rd at 60 is how I do my highway rolls, it gives you a nice jump on the competition usually. Anything higher than 60 though I would reccomend 4th gear. Really though, I don't suggest racing on public roads... but every now and then it just kinda happens. Never on the street though, only highway where there are no other cars, and only when empty. Keep it on the track though. I only have like 4-5 highway pulls, but about 20-30 strip passes.

 

i started in 4th at 60, i knew i could of droped it in 3ed but i dident, it was a highway roll no one was around .....and yea im not a big fan of doing it on the streets ......the focus sounded mean when he punched it so who knows......

 

You should have beat it, I have beaten them. I have a borla exahust which gives me a few extra hp, but they have 170 hp, so its not that much diff, probably made up by the exhaust! Which might be the reason why i had em no biggy, he had me at first like always, but once Im in third, it was bye bye time! lol

 

any car can beat any car. you dont know what the focus had on it

 

I had a dead-even race with a Focus tonight. He has a full exhaust, and I have 300lbs of sound equipment with 18"s. I was still surprised.

 

Off the line, the driver is more important .. goin at 4th is wat did it for meehof. IMO, it's mods or a weight issue.
Ford should be respected for its effort on ALL SVT's Mustang, Contour, Focus.

Got it from dealer, I bought the car all hooked up well my bro did, he knows what exactly is in it , it was the best one in the lot, lowered, full exhaust, tyc, spoiler, upgraded sound, not radio though!, s2000, i think it has fuel injectors, strut bar, tint, trd short shifter, i think thats pretty much it not sure though. As for part #, idk dont know where to look, but I have a pic for proof lol on the intake. Its a cat back.
