Post supercharger!?

i have been debating to either get a turbo or a supercharger for my 07tc, i think i have choosen to get a supercharger, so is there any good superchargers that go good with the tc. i want a trd supercharger and i heard that they are discontinued but is there any used for sale? so any pointers on where i can find one? and if there isnt anything for superchargers, turbos it is but do i need to worry about anything with turbos?

Your about to get flamed. Before you do let me help you. The supercharger was only made by TRD Its the only one. It was made from 2005 to 2009 they are no longer being made because they were a warrenty issue. Looks like you already knew that they stopped making it. They are a hassle since they are always breaking down. You can find them used on the forums.

Next let me help you with something called a search. Its called GOOGLE WWW.google.com when you get there you type in what you want to look for. It has lots of responses. Also if you notice Scion life also has a search bar.... oooh thought of that. USE IT. It has everything you needed. A new thread for this was not needed.

Yes I'm an a s s. Bad day at work., But either way you failed to use something as common as a simple google search.

Also all your turbo questions (is there anything to worry about) means you don't know much about it and should do a lot more SEARCHING before you proceed. Before you blow something up that you can not replace easy.

Yes the supercharger from TRD has been discontinued. Some people had issues some did not, I can say it is related to who installed the supercharger and whether or not the owner mucked with it after it was installed. Besides some oil seepage I have had no problems with mine in the +30k miles it has been on the car, I don't baby the thing either. Regular maintenance is key to make anything last a long time.
Now, I have a few questions you might have not asked yourself:
Why do you want to add forced induction?
Can you afford to have downtime with the car? I.E do you have another form of transportation while you wait for your car to be rebuilt?
Can you afford forced induction in the long run?
How much power were you hoping to make?
That's about all I can think of right now. There is supposedly a good forced induction section on this forum. Also, if you go turbo it seems like there is always somebody selling some part of or their entire set up? Might want to read their reasons for selling and think about it for awhile.

This is a very good set of questions, other things to consider are can you afford the repairs.

Heck, can you afford an entire new engine when you do go turbo and blow everything up?
Can you afford premium fuel?
Can you afford synthetic oil changes every 2.5-3k miles?

When I really priced out a turbo, it wasnt cost efficient for me. Sure you can find a kit in the forums for 1500. What a steal. But then it doesnt come with gauges. Or Management. Or injectors. Ok, you drop about 1200 on all of that. Then you get it on. Shoot, now you need a tune cause you have no clue what you're doing. There's a good chunk of money and I really dont know how much, I was quoted $300 for a subaru I thought about buying. You see what I mean? I dont think that people realize how involved a turbo is, especially for an na car. Any one of these guys in this section will tell you it is an expensive and involved process. Don't boost on a budget.

Very true, I thought of going turbo a year ago and thought I could get it up and going that next month after just getting the Turbo, mani, pipes, bov I am still collecting parts, Not far off just need injectors, Down pipe/wastegate welded up. But after getting into the turbo seen and looking into everything it's not as easy as it seems.

-superchargers are a hit or miss, but can be rebuilt to better quality with some custom parts and such, but parts themselves are hard to find. (i think someone is selling a complete kit for $1500 in the classifieds if u really wanted it) other route is turbo and like everyone else said, make sure you know what your getting yourself into.

go turbo. you will break stuff, believe me. but im a firm believer that the TC is a great tuner learning car. Just cause its pretty easy to work on, and theres tons of people with used parts for cheap when you break things.

Ive broken countless things on my tc in the 2 years of boosting it. and i only started out on 6psi. And being as stubborn as i am, i had to learn the hard way of whats at risk. but it was worth every dollar and every minute because now i know more things about other people's cars that they dont even know. your knowledge level will skyrocket from this....believe me. i only know from experience

Like they all said ^^ its gonna get REAL pricey REAL fast. but if you can take the heat and keep going, you will learn more than you ever have about a car. When turbo'd everything is involved. so it takes a bit of effort. but go for it. dont let people discourage you. your not an idiot. every great car tuner had to start somewhere, and most have blown up more cars than they can count.
