Default Supercharger BOV/BPV

Hey guys anyone know if we can stick a blow off valve on the supercharger system? all I am trying to aim for is some sort of pressure release sound. Got to love the pssshh. Also if the answer is yes what would be in your own honest opinions the best sounding bov.

i tried it. wont work unless it recirculates. go to "gofastbits.com" and get one of those or a turbosmart dual port BOV. a standard bov wont work. sounded good, just made the car run bad.

100% atmospheric will work. it wont make the car run bad. it will make your gas consumption go up.

Not to be a d*ck, but it wont work. I had one on my car and posted vids of how it sounded. I put the BOV where the BPV was connected to the throttle body and plugged the recirculation hose that goes back into the intake manifold. It worked for about 2 days and then my car learned something was changed and when I would go high in RPM's at WOT it felt like i was dragging something real heavy. When I put the BPV back in, and reset the ecu. It went away. Maybe it was just me, but thats what happen. I know a 50/50 dual port bov will work.

if you use an apex-i SAFC to tune your car there is a setting that will allow the use of an atmospheric BOV on MAF setups. other then that i dont think it will work.

good luck

None taken

its just you. atmospheric bov will work. i dont think i have to name the people that have it. adjust it at the right preload to close when idle and have the right spring to it and you will get the shoosh.

I did adjust it. I had idle problems at first and had to tighten it. Then it worked.

So your telling me that you can have a regular BOV on the supercharger? It doesnt have to recirculate? They do make atmospheric bov's, but they also recirculate too. Its like a BPV with a horn on the side. Thats what I have been trying to say.

It doesnt have to circulate? If you want whats best for your car then yes it has to recirculate coz it will kill your mileage.

if you tighten it too much you kill the purpose of having a BOV. if you had to put too much preload on the spring, the problem might be the spring itself, i used 2 different springs to get it right.

1. install the atmospheric bov.
2. seal the plumb back pipe.
3. loosen the nut all the way
4. start the car.
5. rev it.
6. tighten it where the piston will close right before it idles.
7. dont overtighten. if it doesnt solve it use a stiffer spring and start again.

dual ports / hybrids / 50-50 - doesnt make it any better than full plumb back because no matter wat you will not get optimal fuel mixture.

------------------

Do i still have the BOV on my car ? No

why? its annoying. (depending on the design of the trumpet/outlet)

do i plan to put it back? yes, mine is adjustable to 100%/50-50/plumb back.

-----------------

Want to hear a bov on supercharger ?

ie. Honda Integra

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...296874&q=honda

now pay good attention to when he lets off the gas, notice the swoosh!. is that normal ? yes. if you can stand it driving around like that. go ahead and swap it
under deceleration, theres still pre throttle boost while the throttle is closed, boost will have to go somewhere.

NooB Question:
Will the Greddy RS BOV take place of the BPV?
How is the set-up and what would I need to do?
