If ,u took those pictures at the dealership after the install, then they can say absolutely nothing, as long as you can prove the pictures were from there and you can see a tech or something. If not then try to print a date or something on the picture other than those two things, they can just say you took it off and took pictures.

Digital pics have information coded into them that show time, date, camera and all that took the pic. So that is not a problem at all. And seeing as how that time is just minutes after the payment of reciept I think it would be real hard for them to say anything. I didnt remove it. It never existed as far as I know. I took all the boxes and old parts home with me and it is not in any of the boxes. So unless they can prove it was in there then I should be ok. I am going to talk to someone neutral about the whole deal and see what happens.

If you were like a lot of people and didn't read ScionLife, how would you even know that there is supposed to be a tamper proof cap?

sscamatt, thats my thoughts exactly. I dont even think the dealer even knows it exists. I doubt they would have taken the chance and given me the car with out it if the new about it. They know I am into modding. So they would have put the cap on if they new.

If you expect to keep the warranty I would immediately go back to the dealer that did the install and complain until they put a new cap on for you. I don't think taking pictures will get you anywhere. There will be no question that the cap is off. The thing you would have to prove is why the cap is not on there, did the tech not install it or did you take it off to modify the car
i agree
