Manny....

I picked it up and was only able to drive it around for about an hour when it started to rain.....

It rev's in a blink now... Way cool.

Disappointed in the sound of it though... not enough screaming to it.... Probably has to do with the "tuba", "trumpet" and HC filter in addition to the paper filter. I think it is still too restrictive... but I am not going to mess with it.

How much did you pay? With or without installation?

$2,800 for the kit and $795 for the install.... I paid the install price for the warranty... and I am fine with that....

I just wish there was a better intake for the SC... that 'tuba' thing is just goofy... and I have no idea why they have the 'trumpet' in the new box.

awwww, you had it for an hour before it rained??? when we picked up the wife's after her sc was installed--- snow snow snow..... seemed like weeks before a glimpse of dry pavement to try the darn thing out ( up to legal speeds of course... ).
we've had fun with ours.... brings back a few memories of the old v8 days...
good choice to keep stock for a bit, until all the possible mod issues get ironed out.
Elsewhere on this site there hopefully will be posted soon a "list" of things TRD would say 'yay' or 'nay' to for warranty... that is if they answer the person's questions.
anyhow--enjoy it!

make sure you have the TRD tamper proof cap on!

check your oil level and your coolant.

just a reminder.

Whaaaat??? Are you sure about that? Once you start using Synthetic you shouldnt switch back to regular, the dealer should know that.

It wont hurt to switch back, so dont panic there (there are a lot of myths around this, but you can switch back and forth and there is no specific interval to wait for break in time before switching to synth) , but I cant understand why they would. Except for the fact that they are going to do an oil change when they install it anyway, and the dealers dont usually carry synthetic. I would switch back to synth at your next oil change. Enjoy the new sc!
