Default Supercharger / Oil Catch Can Set-up

Im interested in adding a Oil Catch Can to my S/C for cleaner fumes into the intake manifold, but i cant seem to find info on the installation and where it can be placed. i was thinking maybe on the firewall behind the engine and route it through there. Does any one have pictures of this set-up if so please post

Well the intake manifold valve runs off of some sort of vacume, so your going to have to run a line from the PCV valve on the valve cover to the catch can, and then do a return from the catch can to the intake manifold valve. The only place i could fit mine was behind the passengers headlight for now. ill mose it somewere else later. the other valve on the valve cover that normally feeds back into the pipe going into the throttle boddy is just to vent hot gases / air. not much oil at all is coing out of there. for this i would just cap with a small filter.

hope this helps!

actually a significant amount of oil comes out of there. and if your boosted it is a good thing to have your crank case ventilated. take both hose inputs to your valve cover and run them directly into your catch can and put it whereever you want.

I removed my pcv valve and installed a barbed fitting. Then ran hoses from both fittings on the valve cover to where the stock battery sits. I don't have my battery there so I just mounted the can using the threaded holes already there.

or you can route the catch can out to the exhaust stream... you dont need to put it back into the intake...

ive been curious about the same thing, cause im currently n/a, but plan to s/c in the next three months, and i currently have a oil catch can (for looks cause it does no good on a n/a car with such low hp as mine), and i have mine currently mounted under my intake piping (where the sc compressor will sit)... so pictures of where people mounted theirs would be great

our ways are both pretty much identical, except you put a filter on the breather on the side of the engine and i routed it back into the intake...

This is how I did mine if you need a DIY. And it's a REAL can. Dual catch and baffled.

very nice...

what did you do about the PCV flange on the intake manifold? Just plug it up with a vaccuum plug?

Where is the outlet of the can hooked up to?

It's a dual can...2 ports in, 2 ports out. No Y adapter and nothing was plugged. I kept everything flowing as normal, just through a filter now.

It's in the writeup.

ideally you should plug the intake manifold up where the pcv vents to and where the breather vents to and move the outlet of the catch can to the intake pipe (not the charge pipe where you have it now)

I've heard conflicting stories on joining PCV and breather, so I opted to keep them separate. Still all the same bits and pieces, just with a filter in between them now.
