Supercharger or Turbocharger
well, i will be building up my tc, and i have a couple of questions regarding that. i want to reach 200hp or above, and i am not sure which route to take. i can either go with the ZPI stage 0 turbo kit, but i am skeptical of it making 230 hp without a intercooler. i know that they have done their research and all, but wont the turbo over heat, or cant this cause problems to the engine? or the other option is the trd supercharger which is around the same price, but i would be getting ZPI's pulley which is said to add 21hp, so all in all you get 210 hp!! i am looking towards the s/c but still am undecided. my tc is my daily driver so take that into consideration. also what size exhaust should i be using 3inches right?
Since you're from CA I say S/C all the way....no need giving the police a reason to pull you over. Besides many parts are starting to come out for the TC just imagine the parts for the SC that are soon to be coming out.
As for that zpi stage 0, theres no law stating you cannot add an intercooler to it. If you are skeptical... add one. As for helping you choose.. I got nothing... I personally love turbos so just get what you feel is best.
Don't go with a 3" exhaust unless you're pushing higher numbers. You'll lose power on the low end if you do. From what I've seen, big exhausts only help in drag races and makes daily driving less fun.
If you're in Cali, the S/C might be a better bet since it comes with a CARB exemption sticker. Check out what ZPI has in the works. They have a lot in the works for both the t/c and the s/c.
