hey guys im installing a snow performance stage 2 meth injection kit on my sc'd tc, and i need to run a wire to a switched 12v source in the engine bay, anybody know where i can tap into one?

im installing it right now so if i can get an answer asap that would be great!

 

notice the blue wire with the tap connector on it, red wire going to tap connector. that blue wire is a switched 12v source and can be found in the little panel on the driverside front.

 

you can also tap on the radiator fan wire

yeah, like ace said. pop the cover off of the fuse box in the engine bay and look for a switched source ther. just use a connector like this to tap into it

 

So just try and find a switched slot in there that isnt used yet?

 

Do u know which wire to tap on the fan connector that will give me 12v i dont have a meter...

 

there's only two wires on each fan, use a mulitimeter to look for the positive.. fans always use 12v. Its much cleaner to use add a fuse like crush showed but I havent seen any that can go over 10amps.. you have a lot of options you can just tap inside and run it through the firewall

 

well if u look under the fuse box cover, theres a connector with a bunch of wires comming off it, i tested them and alot of them are switched power, i just dont have a volt meter to see if they are a full 12v, cause just cause its there doesnt mean its a full 12v right?

then i wat just going to use a t tap on it...

 

yeah you need some volt meter just to make sure

 

well most likely it is going to be 12volts unless ther is a resister in the line......everything in the car uses 12 volts except for maybe some led's which will have a resister of somesort near it. but it is always a good idea to play it safe and check it with a meter first.......good luck

you can find em real cheap that will do what you need it to. home depot (electical section), wal-mart (automotive section), auto zone (behind counter normally), pep-boys (could be anyplace, they like to move thos bastards around)..take your pick...lmao

hey i got a cen-tech p30756 from my dad just now, anyone know what i should put it on to test for 12v its got a bunch of settings....

 

v with a line and a dotted line, not the v with the squiggly line...lol

 

well i got it all setup and tested last night and it works great, now just waiting for my bumpers to get finished at the bodyshop and the key to come in for the sc'er and i can make my tune appt!
