Synapse bov question
I just installed my new synapse bov and now my afr's fluctuate more than usual at idle. I am running a blow thru setup so theres no need for the anti stall. I doubt that changing a bov would warrant for a retune. I switched from an hks ssqv ver2. Anyone make this change and have a similar issue?
Well I made that exact switch but I used the anti-stall adapter at first but switched to a recirculated setup shortly after. I did not change anything in my tune and the AFR's were pretty much exactly the same.
Is the BOV close to the Maf sensor?? Also make sure the MAF sensor is installed/sealing correctly. A boost leak test is probably something else to try.

Possible vacuum leak? That should be the only thing that could cause it, besides the bov leaking itself. If it was new, obviously not. But my version 1 leaked like hell. I couldn't even keep it running. Start the car, let it idle, then but your hand over the top of the outlet and see if it idles better
Its def not boost or vaccum leak. Everything was tight and i havent touched it since i got tuned. All i did was change the bov. The maf has enough space from the bov as well. Like i said. Its not a major issue bc driveability hasnt tanked. Maybe the ecu just needs to re learn itself w this bov. Ill try doin a battery disconnect and see if that helps.
Its the newer version wo the c port on the side. My afr's would stay around 14.7-15.3 @ idle. Now they jump from 14.3-16 @ idle. Idk it confuses me. Lol. I triple checked my vaccum lines and theyre all good. Idk im stumped at that one. Other than that im happy w the bov.
Im using both vaccum sources. The only thing i can think of is that im using my vaccum block as my vac source for it. I know it said use the source straight off the intake mani. U think that may be a possible cause?
Try using just one of the vac ports. Run a line to the left one only (looking at the back of the valve)
i have noticed somewhat of a difference so far as far as some turbo lag between shifts. i havent really gotten on it as of yet but def no flutter between shifts either.
it def made me a lil nervous when i saw the bov stay open at idle. i tho something was wrong, than i watched some videos on it and realized that its supposed to stay open. i guess thats the reason for the anti stall kit if ur runnin a draw thru setup.

synapse stays open at idle and HKS doesn't so now your car is trying to compensate for that you have to remember it's tuned to have a sealed environment as apposed to one that for lack of a better word has a leak before the MAF
