Default is there any way?

to force the tc into open loop mode? i want to do some street tuning this week, but i dont want it to read any of my values on the o2 tables.

^^ get a standalone and you can do open loop all the time, or you can unplug the O2 sensor.. but hey if you dont tune with close loop then you're missing a big part and you will still be untuned unless you go to WOT

just unplug the primary 02 sensor.

...or is that going into closed loop?

^^ im not sure if it will automatically convert to open without the O2 sensor, but should be as good as open with out any O2 sensor feedback

it will go into open loop without the o2 sensor, but eventually the ecu will take over and force you to go rich.

wouldn't you want the standalone to be in closed loop all the time. that way it could always aim for whatever afr you set it too. i thought that is how the standalones worked. i have never used one and am considering the hydra. i was under the impression you tell it what afr you want and it is always in closed loop and aims for it? am i wrong?

or you could pull the 02 to go into open loop and just leave it unplugged so your always in open loop...

wait...i just saw you have the f/ic so you shouldn't have to do that...why not just get a scangague and watch when it goes into open loop?

the reason you get a standalone is to get full control of the tune even in closed loop.. You can also choose to keep it on open loop all the time.. You can change the settings too on when you want the car to reach open loop.. What you are talking there is the target afr table, it makes it easier to to attain your desired afr in closed loop, but is mainly for idle and cruise operation.. Once drive aggressively and hit open loop that target afr table wont do any function.. in every tune or car that utilize an O2 sensor, open and closed loop is always there

with the f/ic, you can tune closed loop by effectively usin ghte 02 spoofing table...you tell it what voltage to send the ECU so that the ECU THINKS the 02 sensor is reading a certain AFR, but then you adjust the fuel table to run whatever AFRs you want, pretty much.

well i have my target afr's set in the o2 table. but when i get in boost at part throttle they are barely ever at where i set them to in the table. just trying to find a way to get them closer to where i want them

yes i do. my car is just constantly fighting everything i throw at it. one time i can be at 12.5 afr at 5 psi in partial throttle, the next time i can be at 10.0. it's always something different.

only the standalones have target afrs table, the O2 table in aem fic is not a target afr table or am I mistaken? and as I said target afrs are for idle, light driving and cruise and its not in use when you are boosting where you will be in open loop..
