when i took off the turbo. right now my gas millage sucks and i was wondering if i have to get a stock tune put on the car.
at first i thought it was be because i have a 2.5 exhaust.

but im guessing i have to get a re tune for the stock ecu corect?

 

Did you have a piggy back or any kind or engine management? Have you tried resetting the ECU?

 

i had greddy emange blue piggy back. and now i havent i wanted suggestions before i did anything to it

 

yeah id say the tune, its still thinking your have a turbo i would imagine. get it back to reading the stock tc and it should even out

 

so go get re tunned by my tunner?

 

if i understood the many posts here on SL, if you unplug the piggyback, wont the ECU relearn? I might be misunderstanding it...

 

idk thats why im asking. i can try resetting it and see what happen.

 

completely remove the emanage, and then disconnec the negative battery terminal for bout 5 minutes, you shoul be back on a completely stock map

Yeah, the stock ECU adjusted it's long/short term fuel trims to compensate for the Greddy. It'll take a good week to relearn. Do what chico said and it should help alot.

no one has talked about the injectors that come with the kit... do you still have the rc440s in there, or did you remove it with the emanage?

 

good point...you need the stock injectors in there.
But no, if you pulled the greddy, there is nothing to tune or retune.

So you took off the entire kit incl ems and injectors, and your fuel economy sucks?

If so, this has potential to be very true. Why? The turbo uses a waste byproduct (exhaust gas) to help make more power for acceleration. If the car is not driven that hard, it can have better fuel economy than stock if tuned well.

 

^^ true, when not in boost or normal driving, not much difference in mileage, in fact its even better.. I've noticed it when i was going long trips.. scangauge shows it too, 27-32 on highway, not bad
