Default Tracks Unlimited 3/6/10 Recap *Pics*

We had another GREAT day at the NSS this past Saturday. Weather was 55 degrees and sunny! A great day for racing that's for sure! Had a blast and set a new lap time this time out. Went from 1:18.074 to 1:17.027. There were a few laps I felt I was on my way to a 1:16.xx lap time but I was held up on a good run.

In the Track days, you are not allowed to pass a vehicle except for on the straights and ONLY with a Wave-By. With that said, I started eating the butt end off a 2008+ Dodge Viper in the corners. In turns 6-9, the Kuhmo V710 tires I was running allowed me to dive into the chicane where the Viper was just entering. By the time we were coming up on turn 9, I was glued to the rear and actually had to slow down for him. Then the Viper gave me the Wave-By to pass..... Me and all my stock HP tC....lol. This wasn't a timed event, but people use external GPS dataloggers to tell them what kind of times they are running.

Just for comparison to my 1:17.027, top speed was 112mph.

Newb Driver
1:17.4
Vmax: 134.19
2006 BMW M5

Newb Driver
Best time: 1:22.464
Top Speed: 113MPH
Best average speed: 60mph

2006 Audi A6 S-Line Quattro ( V6 255hp 4,200 lbs ! )

Anyhow I'll have a short vid comp posted up for some race action, but for now, enjoy the pics.

Only put about 4 or 5 laps on the tires, so they have a lot left in them still. Next event I will run them the whole time.

Yeah that's him trying to get a fell for her. He wasn't able to get an ET, but he did datalogg his top speed on the straight, which was 139mph. He was only pushing 5lbs of boost and reving only to 6k rpms because he was breaking in the new motor internals. He was done breaking it in by the time of the event, but his tuner had a Drift event the weekend before, so he had to run the event with these limitations.

car ran strong and pulled hard, first session I was way off on rear tire pressure and burnt through the oil return line on turbo because it rubbed on wastegate flange. Second session Travis and I both got stuck behind a GTI that would not wave us buy and then my flywheel broke. Hopefully in a week or so will be back up and running and then back at the track with some times to post

Wish I could tell you...it appears that the starter gear somehow fell off...

Looks like fun hey smoke how is it not running boost bet it sucks lol. But all in good you'll being hitting boost again. Those kumho's look like a pretty good set of rubber. I wish I could run here in florida but I have to work when most events are held. Cool man keep us updated.

Actually to be quite honest, it only sucks when I need to go fast in a straight line. But when I hit the corners, boost or not boost, I am simply killing it and love every minute. Last time I passed up a Z06 Vette, this time it was a Viper...Imagine what happens when I'm back on boost.... Which by the way is just around the corner...
