Default TRD ECM Reflash Map Module for S/C- Question

Has anyone used the TRD Map module for the S/C more than once? Either on the same ECM, or if you bought it used and had to apply the map on your ECM??

Service Mgr is telling me that TRD told him that the Map Module is a one-time only..After that it cannot be applied again, you have to get another module. Which of course negates the note they make on the module and in the instructions to "leave in the glovebox" in case you ever need to reapply it.

I think that is BS. Can anyone confirm or deny?

im thinking the exact same thing. the back of my module says to keep it in case of future service. i read somewhere that everything in the module is erased once its used... if so, then why keep it? sry i dont have an answer for you, but free bump! hopefully someone can shed some light here.

The module used for the flash has the vin and rest of the cars info burned into it. So it is a one shot deal for one ecu, I tried using one from a prior s/c install we did and my friend toyota got a non matching vin error. I had to use garages jump method to get another ecu with the trd flash to work. Dealer price for the trd flash module is 450 not worth it to me thats a eman with a tune only problem is a rough idle then.

so you were able to reuse the flash, but you had to reset the new ecu first?

No I had to use a different ecu I tried flashing my original ecu but it did'nt work. I got a ecu wuth the used s/c I bought that had the trd flash on it. The flash module is a one shot deal ecu specific you use it once and it burns the vin number into it so it will only work with the ecu.
