Default TRD reflash + aem fic = :(

So people worned me to get rid of that pos of a flashed ecu and i didnt listen. Long story short, i finally got tuned today and i wasnt able to get the #s i wanted. He said the flash pulled sooo much timing he couldnt make power. He managed to get me 380whp but when we went for the test drive as soon as i went into boost it bogged like crazy so he had t0 lower the psi. End result is 365whp on 16psi i believe. Im on the hunt for a stock ecu then back to the shop to get it tweaked.

btw i have a fully built bottom end and running a gt35 and that turbo is die'ing for more psi.

Bro, get rid of that pos! and if ur running 16 psi the timing that the trd ecu pulls is probably fine..

Sounds like this tuner of yours need to go back to school!

365 at 16psi isnt too shabby for a ecu that pulls hella timimg, i might buy a trd flashed ecu and try my hand at it and if i dont like it ill use my stock one

There have been a few people pushing 12lbs and higher that have had issues w/ the trd tune and the emanage. He surely is not the first. Bogging is an issue they have had and the engine not firing correctly

your mean! lol
Trust me hes a good tuner. You said it yourself im fine on 16psi. He had me @ 19 and that was where the prob was.
I must say the fic makes my car feel like stock again. The emanage gave me a rough idle and ran poopy. Allthough i did have a camed head with valvesprings and retainers when i was tuned on the emanage. Im sure that played a factor. Ill post #s when i get this situation under control

I actually kinda find it funny how so many people bash the TRD reflash. I've heard that if you're running a small turbo it runs quite well. In fact, the person i bought my gauges and injectors from was running the TRD reflash and a small t3/t4 50 trim at 12-13 lbs. I've heard similar stories from others as well.

Before my single comment gets flamed like crazy...i.e. all the "nay-sayers," i do have an unichip and a bigger turbo if things for whatever reason don't work out. This should be interesting though...

^there is no way possible under any means someone was running a 12lb turbo or s/c and was running save w/ the trd tune. Trd tune maxed out safety with the s/c at 9.5lbs (10lbs to be exact) and with the turbo its A LOT lower ...i think around 5lbs.

im not bashing the trd tune - i just think its insane that i got it w/ my old s/c and then they couldnt undo that change. I had to buy a junk yard ecu and pay for them to fix whatever so my car would start w/ it.

^^ agreed, I find it hard to believe as well, not saying that i'm going to throw 12 lbs on it right away, but i'm just curious to see how it will handle. Yeah it sucks that you can't go back from the reflash....thats why i just bought one instead of trying to get mine reflashed.

oh, i forgot to add, that i'm gonna be running a blow thru setup on a quasi custom dezod kit...

^ya - i already had two chargers on my car w/ a bunch of other things - took all that off a yr ago. I had the eman ult, intake, header, exhaust, and methanol. I was running 10.5lbs w/ the trd tune but had to run an eman to keep things safe. I did blow my engine but i think i had an issue way before I really started putting on parts (and i never got it attended to ....and i sure should have). anyway - I couldnt belive they wouldnt reflash. My dealer called me and said they just cant do it ....so i started talking to him and was like ....so what would it take to get this done .... ____s i was willing to give him a few bucks. But he physically couldnt - That time and cost me going and finding a junkyard ecu should have been billed to TRD

hmmm. well i have a stock ecu on its way. Im curious to see what i need to do to get it running so i can drive back to the shop to get tuned. btw. never bashing the trd tune. it is great for what its meant for. I just think its rediculous that if you deside to take the blower off. You have tto go through more trouble to get another ecu. It should be able to go back to stock.
oh and my car is acting funny now even on 16psi with the flash. I cant wait to get rid of it.
