Default TRD S/C impeller washer

Hey all, I have and '06 trd s/c and I'm looking for the steel washer that goes in between the impeller and housing.

Here is a picture of the washer (courtesy of AZGuy):

If anyone knows where I can get one of these please let me know. My local machine shops have quoted my $250-$350 in order to custom make ONE (NOT worth it). I have also contacted Vortech directly, as well as Toyota/Scion, and neither sell the washer. According to machine shop techs and Vortech/Scion?Toyota ppl, the washer is specially made to tolerate high heat, pressure and rotation so it can not be replaced with just any.

Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks guys.

If you replaced the seal with one like i have then any quality steel washer with the same spacing will work. If you are still using the Vortech seal then you do need a washer to those dimensions but should not cost you that much to get. I would try searching Granger or similar to find a washer that would work.

That's a good question that I can not answer because I honestly don't know how it happened. Half of the washer was shattered into tiny pieces while the other half remained intact but all scratched up.

Alright just to confirm, if I have the 928 seal, which I do, I can just buy any steel washer and use it without issue as long as it fits?

Would it be a big deal if the washer does not fit snugly onto the shaft?

How did u know it was broken did it make any sounds or oil leaking. Or did u just take your s/c apart and found it broke.
Just wondering I'm hearing some rattle noise from my blower only at 2500 rpm if I stay steady on it. No oil leaks. and I'm going to be replacing the bearings cause that's what I think it is. But now I'm wondering if its the washer lol.

I does need to fit snuggly, if need be buy a washer the right thinkness (also important) with a smaller hole than you need and hand reem it till it is a press fit. That is what I would do on the cheep.

When the sc was on the car, I could hear a rattling somewhat grinding sound from the compressor side. There was no oil leak cause my 928 seal was tight. If your sc has never been rebuilt, you NEED to do it.
