It would be in everyone's best interest to wait for TRD to come out with a supercharger intake. It will be warranted and will be very smooth with the TRD supercharger and yield good performance. TRD will begin to release components for the supercharger that will enable "us" (the first generation TRD supercharger owners) to update our superchargers to increased stages that they will release.

trd is actually releasing a S/C intake?!?!?!
is this just pipe dreams or was this announced?

i am saving for the S/C and want to use the first half of my TRD intake to make a short ram for it...
i assume i can just monitor the A/F ratio with a scan tool... but i didnt realize that the intake would lean out the mixture to the point of self destruction... unless that is just with a full CAI...

No you cannot use an aftermarket intake with the S/C. If you do you will lean the car out jwaggz82 said. It is stated in the warranty that if any part or the intake system or the BPV is modded/changed that the warranty would be void.

The TRD air box is designed to flow air past the MAF so that it reads properly and does not lean out and blow your engine up. So if you're going to mod the S/C I say just go turbo.

Well according to the warranty paper work that comes with every single S/C....Yes.

Has anyone actually read the warranty paper work on the S/C? I can't see how this comes as a surprise to anyone.

Hey Josh can you tell me why TRD has a CAI intake to fit the s/c for the new xB and not for the tC?

To be honest I can't tell you anything about the new xB. We have zero info on it. But being that the car has not been released yet nothing is available for it. There is 99.9% chance that this will never be released and is propbably just for show. Remember the top mount air/water intercooler that everyone was going nuts over that never came out? Well this is going to be the same thing. I will be shocked and amazed if this actaully makes it to production. The intake that is. If you call TRD and ask anyone about an intake for a S/C'd Toyota or Scion they will tell you "TRD has never recommended the use of a CAI with a Supercharger".

I heard from two different dealerships that the CAI intake will only be for the new supercharged xB. When I asked them if they going to make one for the tC they said "I don't know . TRD might make one for the tC"

If this intake were going to be available it would be part of the S/C kit so it would already be tuned to work with the S/C system. But like I said I doubt it is going to be a production item.
