Default TRD Supercharger Key Tool

I had planned to make one of these for awhile but just recently had a change to get it done. It involved some company equipment only companies could afford.

I have epoxied the two parts together and will have my belt to install my pulley tomorrow. Thought it was pretty cool, have my very own key tool.

While I could very easily make more I used some company owned assets to make the model and water jet cut it. While they don't mind us using the machines on our own time for personal use, using them for profit is a big no no.

you could make 2 or 3 and pass them around the boards, people send you money as collateral and you send it bakc when you get hte tool back.

Crossed my mind but I have a second part of it that would prevent them from telling it was ever off which I am keeping quiet lol. If I ever need to go down that path.

I just want to put this out there:

Its because of things like this why manufacturers are so strict on the warranties. If you changed a part and caused the failure, YOU SHOULD BE LIABLE, NOT THE DEALER.

its simple;

The manufacturer messes up = They pay for it

you mess it up = YOU PAY FOR IT

(ex: putting on a smaller pulley, changing header, basically all the things that they said if you did it, they would not cover it under warranty!)

I completely agree with you. I consider myself a pretty honest person. My concern is the dealership using the pulley as an excuse to not fix something related to the engine NOT related to the pulley. I have already had an idler pulley go out on me and this pulley has zero impact on that if it goes out again, then I am at the mercy of the dealership. If I blow a head gasket then yea thats me and I will take care of it myself, I have rebuilt many toyota engines I can handle that. This is also why I am not even considering trying to sell it to anyone. And before you ask why I think I would be qualified to judge if something was caused to fail as a result of the pulley, I am a practicing mechanical engieer in failure analysis. I also am planning on installing the cermaic bearings from superchargedscions.com to cover myself there.

I am just proud I was able to do this and thought some people would get a kick out seeing something like this done.

That being said some pictures of it installed. Worked perfectly but the new belt was a _____ going on.

Question: For those with a supercharger does you idler pulley have the belt this close to the inside edge? I think the dealership still didn't shim the idler properly and I am thinking of reshimming it myself. The way it sits looks like it is causing a torsional force on the idler pulleys bearrings.

The same thing happened to mine when i put the 12psi pulley on, after a while it adjusted. even when i put the stock on back on it happened until i bought a gates belt. Great job on the key btw.
