Default TRD supercharger owners, how happy are you with it?

I'm considering buying a new tc because I like the car, but its a bit slower than what I'm use to. My current daily driver has about 12.25 lb/hp and a stock tc is about 17.5 lb/hp. So, I considered getting the TRD supercharger for it. However I've looked through the forums here and noticed osme people having problems with theirs. I'm consideirng the TRD kit because it would allow me to keep the warranty since the tc would be my daily driver.

For those that have the TRD supercharger, how happy are youwith it? What problems have you had, if any?

I've had my supercharger for a year with no problems. I had the mechanic leave the heat shield to the header off, and I upgraded the bypass valve, everything is fine. I made a trip from northern VA out to ZPI's Shoot Out earlier this year and was able to get about 30mpg. Power isn't that bad. It's plenty for daily driving. Drag racing isn't it's strong suit unless you're willing to give up the warranty.

From what I understand, you will have to get an 05 or 06 tC to supercharge it. TRD isn't making a kit for the '07. Anybody feel free to correct me if I am wrong..
I put the s/c on my 06 when it had about 3000 miles on it. I now have almost 13000 miles, and no problems. I haven't done anything to modify the s/c or related components. I do drive the ____ out of it, though.
I went with the TRD supercharger because of the warranty, and I work at a Toyota dealer, so the price was right
Honestly, I was a little disappointed when I first drove it after the installation. I expected a little more bang for my buck. Now, it seems to be a little peppier with a few more miles on it. It still kicks butt, and I beat a Cobalt SS in a drag race.
If I didn't care about the warranty, and had the money to rebuild my engine if I blew it up, I would have went with a turbo kit to get closer to 300hp.
The TRD s/c is a good choice for a daily driver, and keeping your engine warranty is a good thing.

OK that's what I wrote a short time ago. I hit 14,500 miles and started getting more of a whine out of the s/c. Listening to it outside of the car idling, you can hear a nastier than normal rattle, too. The techs at my shop looked at it and decided it should be replaced. When I called TRD for warranty authorization, they said I should also order a new s/c mounting bracket.
I'm glad it's all covered under warranty, but

I don't have any problems with S/C YET. I like it and I beat alot of cars in a race with it. I beat cobalt ss s/c too but I don't want to bring up that topic because alot of people was hating when I did be the Cobalt ss /sc and those cars are fast . I have some few mods on my S/C but all of them are from TRD.

The dealership I went to claims to have paperwork form TRD saying the '07 supercharger will be available this fall. If that's true, it would give me the opportunity to put a few thousand miles on the car before having it installed.

there is a ne 07 s/c in the wings, how close or how far it is to be available is anyones guess but there are random hints and such to prove that it is trying to exist.

i wouldnt put too much into when TRD says its coming out. they fell on there face when trying to state a release date for the first S/C ...

I've had mine on my 06 for 10,000 miles without any problems. It's a lot of fun and I really enjoy driving it. My only complaint is the noise. It often sounds like my engine is about to fall apart and the frequency of the supercharger is just right so it causes some buzzing in my dashboard at certain RPMs.

I'm not convinced I'd do it again, but I do enjoy having it.

300 is nothing even for a 4.... but it is something for an engine that was never built for more than 200whp

actually i thought the limit of the stock tC was around 300? wasnt that typed down somewhere.
it'll all go to hell quicker than you could imagine but it will handle it for that limited time...

and you can always build the motor and such its all out there now.

yeah it is posten that the limits of the AUTOMATIC tranny is at about 300 before it starts to break down... the manual is easier to manage given its user controlled...

I wish mine was reliable, I don't drive hard but I seem to keep getting the short end of the stick. I do put a lot of miles on my car, at 25k, so maybe I'm seeing more wear and tear sooner then most. What ever the case may be, I'd like to wish all you guys the best of luck with your S/C's.

and all these probelms seem to be with the superchargers or the brackets, not damage caused to the engine itself...

... interesting...
