Does anyone know the symptoms of worn ball bearings in the TRD Supercharger?

also if you take the belt off and wiggle the pulley, and it moves even a little bit, that means you need new bearings and/or shaft and bearings.

My 1st one made this god afoul loud wine and my 2nd one made this really annoying rattling/clunky sound, then went away and a couple of days later the bearing in the shaft just seized and my engine died in the middle of the road.

 

it cause your engine to die? I would think the car would still run, with just less air going into the engine

 

his bearings stalled that means the s/c wasn't spinning at all, that means no air, that means engine dies.

If you needed a rebuild, and your pulley side bearings went out, you'll need a new shaft as well, otherwise it'll happen again. More likely than not the shaft will be damaged, its tolerance is slightly off to begin with anyway. Make sure you have them check that out for you while they are rebuilding it.

 

i didn't ask them ask them , but my belt is making noise now. i will see how long this sc will last.
How hard is it to install a new shaft.
