Default Treadstone turbo kit

Just wondering how this kit is. I really don't know a ton about F/I but I want to learn and plan on getting turbo in the spring. So right now I am trying to do the research and budget accordingly. Looking at the description, it looks like it comes with everything I need in order to get up and running, other than the guages of course. I just want to make sure that this kit has everything I need and that I do not have to get anything else.

Hey, I've been doing a lot of research as well on F/I, didn't know a thing before I got the tC recently (crotch rocket jockey before then, R6 style) but I'd really like to get some stealth power in my car - it's a daily driver, but I'd love to be able to crank out some speed occasionally.

I was checking out this kit http://www.whyindustries.com/store/p...products_id=52

from TurboToyotas, but I gotta admit I'm a complete novice when it comes to boost...and cars in general.

What happens when you get a turbo kit - where do you get it installed, or do you have to do it yourself (for the mechanically uninclined out there, like me, that's kinda scary)?

Then how do you go about finding a tuner to get everything right so you don't destroy your car? I've been finding out a lot of technical info, but not so much on the practical side of owning a turbo car (what other parts to replace, what's best to do for maintenance, etc.) Sorry for the noob questions, but if any of you seasoned F/I cats have knowledge, I'd appreciate some too

Where are you in L.A.? I could probably point you in the right direction to answering your questions.

Have you been to a Team ScionTific meeting? We have one this week in North Hills. I know it's a bit of a drive, but it will be worth it since we have a few members who are boosted.

Never been - I'm still learning about everything scion related (only had my tC for about a month now). Fridays at 7, right? I'd like to check it out after work

I have a treadstone kit on my car. A few things I would recommend before going turbo is really learning about them. Someone who knows next to nothing with a turbo on thier car can spell trouble in a lot of ways. The tc was built to be able to handle boost from the factory so unless your going to push high hp (300+) you will not have to build anything up. As far as treadstone kit goes. For the price the numbers are decent. It is ready out of the box, but I do highly reccommend you still get engine managment. Since the biggest way to protect your car when boosted is a good tune, you CAN NOT tune our cars with the stuck ecu alone. You will need a piggyback or standalone. I had a lot of fitment issues with the kit as well. A very experienced mechanic should install it for you. I would really look around here and see what people have done and what all comes with boost. Hope this helps
