tuning the ecu
I am not too sure about that. Toyota has gone out of their way to show they can be right there in racing... Formula 1... now NASCAR...
With the tC... ok not necesarily meant for racing.... or is it?
From world-racing.com.... "Chris Rado was featured in the October 28, 2006 edition of The New York Times. The article profiles the WORLD Racing Scion tC. Click here to view the NYTimes.com article, or visit the Press Section to see the WORLD Racing Archive copy."
Like I said.... seems to me someone should have cracked this bad boy wide open...

He doesn't drive a tC, he drives a race car. The only thing in common his car has with a tC is the name.

If u convert a Pontiac Fiero in a Ferrari, is it a Ferrari? If you use only the body form of a tC, is it a tC, even if it has the heart of another Toyota? I don't know... I love Chris' Drag Car and the man sure is like "THE MAN", but I don't fully accept that "tC".
Well no one has cracked the ECU yet. As a matter of fact no one has cracked any Toyota ECU (well there might have been one for the late 80's Supra I think??). Anyways people have tried but Toyota has either very different ecu's then other car manufactures or they actually encrypt their code. I really do not think anyone is really working on it either. I would just save up for a stand alone at this point. It will probably be many years before someone will crack the ECU.
