Hey everyone, i got a question... for some reason this weird problem started and i dont know what causing it. when i get into boost at WOT and the car gets to 4500 rpm, it goes from 11.5 AFR, to 10.0 AFR and ive tryed taking fuel out in the emanage but it doesnt seem to change, and ideas... thanks

 

I don't really know how to tune but I have seen people tune and it seems like it's still running rich. It was probably running richer then 10 but wasn't showing seeing that the wideband won't read less then 10. Best way to find out if it's running richer is to take it to a dyno shop that has one of those exhaust readers. You may not need to run on the dyno but maybe they can just stick it in and you can rev it or something. Anyway it seems like it's still running rich. Again I'm not a tuner, just a guess based on what I've observed.

 

You have to take more fuel out. Its richer than 10. Be careful though, when the temp changes, so will your tune ( slightly )

 

hmm...same thing kinda happened to me this weekend. i was trying to tune the emanage and seemed like it would run like a 10.5. but once it got to 4500 rpm, it just dipped back down to 10.0 .

you can also feel it kinda bog when it hits that "crossover" so to speak. btw, what map are you adjusting? injector or airflow, or both?

 

Is that happenning when the ECU is going from closed loop to open loop?

 

Are you trying to tune your self?

I believe hes going from close to open loop.

 

the stock ecu may be sensing some sort of knock. when it does that it will start pulling alot of timing. this is the reason i will be going standalone as soon as i can.

 

try pulling your efi fuse out for about 10 mins...put it back in, drive the car around for a couple hundred miles and let the ECU string out the long term fuel trims and then try backing out fuel. Thats what I had to do with my xB in order to somewhat hold a tune

 

isn't this the kind of thing the dezod black box was made for?

 

for tuning i am using the emanage, with a GM 2 BAR MAP Sensor. work just the same as the Greddy Presure sensor. Ill try taking out that fuse, and i also have the black box. the car is also in open loop when this is happening, i want to take it to someone to tune it but cant find anyone. also i dont have the Ignition harness for the emanage, only the base harness, so i cant change the timing, and i dont know how to moniter the timing eather. im new with emanage

 

also try dissconecting your factory wideband 02 where the wires plug into each other

 

I thought that the E-manage Ultimate only controlled open loop and the Dezod's black box was for Close Loop. I'm reeeaaally sure, it's likle that.

You serious? It tunes part throttle. He;s going rich under WOT boost. The black box has nothing to do at that point.

 

He was asking about WOT, not partial throttle. I would highly suggest the boost sensor in that case if hes woried about part throttle. thats one of the main advantages of disconnecting it.

 

the main advantage of that is that by unpluging the factory wideband, you essentially make the car open loop. it makes it so that the ecu doesnt fight the e-manage as much.

 

so i can disconnect my stock O2 sensor and the car will still run fine. and does it throw a check engine light? i dont have any problems with partial trottle, i have the black box it works great, its just under WOT that this happens and i belive it is already in open loop at this point.

 

leave it as is and take it to a tuner asap. running too rich is fine, but you do not wan tto lean it out to where you accidently ____ something up. Also, try to get the ignition harness. You should only tune igntion on the dyno. It will let you know if you're making power or not from advancing/retarding ignition.

 

thats the thing there are no tuners where i live. i have an ignition harness but something is wrong with it, after installing it it only fires on 3 cylinders so i took it back out. must have a bad pin or something.

 

If you remove the o2 sensor you will get a CEL and the car will run like total crap. It will rely on the MAF for all tuning. Have you call Dezod? How long have you had the Black box on? Could be that the a/f are too different when switching from closed to open loop that the car goes into limp mode. It could even be a dead o2 sensor. Mine just died on me the other day and I was getting a similar problem.
