Tuning question - bouncing idle / stall?
#21
the aem fic tunes using manifold pressure right? different condition creates different manifold pressure and on some occasions the manifold pressure could be constantly changing, so if your fuel map isnt smooth then there will be a big jump of afrs from rich to lean.

these problems only occur @ cruise / closed loop
trims are around -22
funny ... i watched the "green box" move around on the map when it does this bounce... not one value is different anywhere it bounces to... Fuel trims are only off from factory ecu by +/- 5%, couldnt get them any closer

well ive found that fuel trims dont mean much on the FIC.. its all relative... change your MAF or o2 values, then its all different.. with my map im able to run 0 trim @ 0psi ~ 3500 rpms, where other maps are pushing 60+
Unless your talking about the ECU timming (that you need a scanner to read) then you just have a tuning issue lol
This is harder than i thought... i got the basic ... AFR levels but now these stupid little quirks .... im gonna rip this thing out!

enjoithis, i have a scanner and that is what i was using to tune mine at idle. my fuel trims at idle were only 0.5% and i was still getting the jumping idle and stalling. when I pulled the timing out it completely stopped. i'm not sure why, and yes it probably is just a band aid. but hey, it works and i'm gonna leave mine that way.

Hey man. If I were you, I would just take it to NoLimitMotorsports in Medford.....Thats if you have an extra 300-400$ to spare. They do good work there. I got my unichip tuned there and everything is like butter. I do also have a slight rough idle due to the lightened flywheel... but I think thats just the nature of the beast.

I've been to enough tuners who havent been able to do any more than I could.
Plus id like to learn how to tune anyway, that way if anything does change / go wrong I have the ability to fix it (like this for example)

I learned to drive so it doesnt stall, just gota downshift untill im almost stopped and im fine, car moving keeps enging running lol
The biggest concern i have now is that it goes lean right after a shift, it sputters alot and its annoying!
