Default Tuning the turbo for a "valet mode"

Ok well - my cars going to be in a body shop for about 2 weeks, and i dont want those guys taking my car for "test drives" while its there. I was thinking about cutting the fuel trim back anything over 3krpms so it wont be able to be driven hard.
This should in theory be similar to what we have from the factory at 6200rpms.

Second option was making the waste gate stay open so turbo wont spool up. Of course im not sure about how to do that at this point anyway.

I dont care if the check engine light comes on as a result, as long as my car isnt broken! (its already on anyway)

Is this safe? Any other ideas?

you could pull one of the coil packs. it would only be able to move around slowly.

you can take out the wastegate spring that will keep it from spooling .. but have someone help you hold the top down while your taking the screw out or it will pop at you

Make sure you write down the odometer reading, regardless of which route you take...

if they were smart they probably wouldn't want to try to program it and take the risk of doing something wrong just for a joy ride and im guessing its not a manual boost controller so im sure you can disconnect it somehow or you can go with brett's idea

I trust the shop to do my repairs but when the boss isnt around people are always tempted to take a car like this for a test drive. I dont think they would but, you never know.

First time going to this shop - the last 2 body shops ive delat with i wasnt happy with their work. so... hopefully all goes well. Just so nervous leaving it..

pull the EFI fuse. They'll have to push the car, but screw them!

If you remove the wastegate spring you will create no boost regardless of the vacuum "signal" to the wastegate, without the wastegate spring it will stay open all the time regardless of boost/vaccum to the port, so without it = no boost.

just take a pic of the odometer and say you know how many miles are on it and if theres a significant amount of miles added when you get the car back your gonna give them hell.

but def. x2 on taking it somewhere where you wouldnt have to worry about this.
