Just as I suspected. I wouldn't buy ANY sport car with 60k miles on it. Unless it was a 2jz Supra.

Resale value on a 350Z crushes Resale value of a Stang with the same year, sorry, no arguement in that.
Ok... Fine... I'll engage.
First off, let's pick a year. 03 is unfair beacause the body changed on the Mustang but whatever. The touring package on the new 03 350z cost 36,000. The GT package on the 03 mustang cost 23,485. Mustang - KBB for ppv in good condition with typical mileage is $12,355. 350z - kbb for ppv in good condition with typical mileage is $19,165.

36,000 - 19165 = 16,835
23,485 - 12,355 = 11,130 (And it's the old body!!!)
Now, since were using kbb and not whatever you make up in your head is there anything else? Sorry that was mean I just get heated about this because of how many jobs are going to be lost in America for no reason.

If you got the money Citizen....350Z + Twin Snails FTW!

9 lbs of boost 450+whp 480-500tq.

I'm going GReddy TT on our Z. I want minimum 600whp daily.

Depreciation and Resale Value is Two different things. Sorry good try, but that's comparing apples to oranges. Resale is just that....What it cost at the Dealer, after it has been used. Secondly, It would be better suited to compare the 03 Base model Z to that of the 03 GT. Either way, the Base still out performs an 03 GT.

you can't really compare like this because based on your example a 2003 civic is the best car in the world. It retails for like 15,000 and now it sells for 11,000 so it lost 4,000 bucks. Come on now, this is just non-sense!

trust me, it's a lot more valuable and fun to have a "low-end" vehicle beating out "high-end" vehicles. Once my tC is hitting 300+whp, I'll be whupping EVOs, STIs, 350z, G35s, Camaros and Mustangs. It costs A LOT less to soup up a tC and make it faster than a car that costs you over thirty grand. A long with that, insurance and payments can be a b**ch.

Not if you first recognize that sports cars depreciate at a far greater rate than economy cars. Look, this is not what I wanted to do. I just wanted to prove that someone who bought a 350z in 03 would lose much more money than someone who bought a mustang gt and I did.

Rhythmsmoke, when you get those snails you better hire a pro camera crew to follow you around and post it all up on SL cause that's gonna be awesome. Good Luck.

^^^^^ trust me, a mustang is going to loose more money than a 350z in the long run, guaranteed.

Please tell me you just said that to make me mad. I just proved, using kelly blue book not just saying "trust me", that over 4 years you lose over 5 grand more on the 350z not even including maintanence costs (do you know what brembo brake pads cost to replace!?). How much longer of a run are you talking about? How about next person to post something uses a link to back their claim up instead of saying "trust me" or "my friend said...".

LOL... If I remember correctly you're the one asking if Turbo or 350Z? If you don't care what people have to say don't ask questions. Freakin' A, people have nerve to ask then try to prove wrong, who f**king uses KBB anyway, Dealers don't, private sellers dont, true car buyers don't. If I'm not mistaken, the 1994 T supra is listed at like 14k in mint condition, good luck finding one for that price, god...

ok... I could spend the rest of my work day posting listings off autotrader reflecting kbb but what is the use? What site would you have me use to get car values from? If kbb isn't the standard then what is? The truth is that nothing I post no matter how true or logical will ever penetrate the Ford prejudice. I already thanked you for your input and said I didn't want it to turn into this but people kept pushing it, all I did is defend the mustang. I meant no offense.

I'll be whupping EVOs, STIs, 350z, G35s, Camaros and Mustangs. It costs A LOT less to soup up a tC and make it faster than a car that costs you over thirty grand.
Only if you plan to only "race" purely stock cars from 40mph rolls, you've got a point.

Depreciation has a lot of factors in it. One of those factors is the KBB is assuming that because it's a TRUE sports car (not like the Mustang), that people will drive the ____ out of it. This factors into its depreciation value. however, this again is different than it's resale value. And we already know the resalve value of a Z is greater than that of a Stang.

PS...Only the track model Z comes with Brembo's.

I found one for that price. The description forgot to mention it had No engine, Windshields, wheels, seats, and was rusting on the left quater panel....

Yeah, no way in Hell you would find a running TT Supra with less than 100k miles for UNDER $40k. If so, you really got a hella deal.
