Turbo broke my windshield strip! lolz

I had the same thing happen, but only half of it came off, so I had to pull it in through my sunroof and hold it until I could pull over, lol. And on the side of the road I decided to cut the strip in half. (there's a crease in the strip, half stays down, and half is pushed forward by the sunroof wnd deflector when it's opened. I made a slit at the end of the strip, and pulled on it, and it came apart at the crease) I think the problem is the wind deflector puts pressure on the strip and causes it to work it's way lose, this way there's no pressure on the strip and it stays in place. it's worked for me for about 8 months now, just my .02cents

I just put it all back on. One big piece as I thought. This time, I used epoxy to hold it in place from all around. This thing shouldn't go anywhere. I rarely ever use the sunroof and the car never goes through car washes... as for 130 mph, well that happens more commonly hehe. Hope this is the end of this problem.

What kind of epoxy did you use to glue it down? Mine has been loose for probably over a year now, can't go through car washes with blowers and stuff, it's ridiculous. I really just want to be done with it.

If you're talking about the moulding that goes at the top and along the sides the Toyota dealer in Charlotte had to call in their glass people to put mine on. It's glue along the seam that needs to be cleaned out before the new one is installed. The pulled out my windshield to do it, broke the windshield in the process so I got the moulding and a new windshield.

To do it 100% like OEM, yes, the windshield should be pulled but I didn't want them to see what I've done under the hood so I did it myself with some epoxy and glass removal tools. Just pressed the outer edge in with a plastic blade after clearing out excess goop for the new side strips to fit in and then put epoxy on the top strip when I clicked it into place. Tried and true, leak-proof, 130 mph proof and looks like it did before!
