Lets get this out of the way dont boost on a budget. Now as far as your question that depends on how much knowledge you have about cars and turbos. If you know what your doing a custom kit can end up costing less. If you have limited automotive knowledge just get a kit

I do have to agree. Some fab skills as well or access to a good fabricator might be essential as well depending on how different or custom your kit may be.

For most people, a kit is a great way to get started. At that point, you become familiar with the inter-workings of it and then can customize it further if it does not do what you need it to.

I agree 100%, i'm supercharged and my bro is turbo. We got the dezod kit and I have had fun putting it on the car and learning how each part works/hooks up.

Putting your own kit together can be challenging finding all the parts you need but you can save a lot of money and it can be fun!

Just make sure to tune no matter what kit you decide to use! That is one thing many noobs overlook! also without building the motor stay under 10lbs of boost. I had a buddy blow his motor at 12lbs!

Dezod FTW.

Complete instructions on how to install it yourself with all the parts needed to install. Goes out the door within a week at the latest. Can't go wrong!

I have been daily driven on 12lbs for awhile now. psi doesnt matter. Its the amount of air your turbo can flow(aka how big it is) 10psi from a 16g turbo is different than 10psi from a gt40

its also not the amount of air the turbo can flow.......the main reason why engines go boom is a tune....or in a few other peoples case pushing the oem motor to the limit.....i was boosting 16psi on a precision 6076 for around 4 months with no problems.....if you have a good tune and keep it under 340hp your stock engine should last quite a while.......back to the op question.......if you research you can go custom.....i spent around 2500 bucks on my custom kit(initial purchase)....now its got around 6k in it bahaha

ah screw it....just go dezod s1 kit and have a professional tune it around 9psi.....dezod has the best customer support around and paul or don will help you with any questions you have.

Theres alwayes ZPI or turbo toyota kits too I here there service is worth waiting for.....

Dezod is a great company thats been around for a while now. Also check out Ptuning (love them) and treadstone (I think they still make a kit),

Turbonetics to my knowlegde will be discontinuing their kit

I would look into each kit, Dezod, PTuning,T-netics, GReddy, TurboToyotas, and see which one fits your needs the best.

my opinion cusom if you know what your doing, then p-tuning/dezod either or. up to you and your goal. turbotoyotas well ask around hasnt been good lately as far as customer support and product deadlines and greddy not much power unless you boost 10 or over and have a really good tuner.
