Turbo and inspection
I am looking into turbo kits and am about to start piecing together my kit. But before I do, I did not think about inspection. I live in Texas and need to know if it will pass inspection somehow. Is there a trick to enabling the turbo to pass? Please let me know! Especially if you are boosted and live in Texas! Thank you!

im in the Houston area, it is possible however if you have emissions testing then its likely you wont. wher in texas are you? what county? diff counties have different requirments. the county my car is registered in only does safety inspections, every so often they will check that my gascap is sealing properly and that i have a catalytic converter (though im sure they mistake a resinator for cats all the time, atleast they did with me
shoot im from texas but we dont have emission inspections where im at just safety. Were i go they dont even look under the car to see that im all straight pipe with just a muffler. they kinda just check the basics and slap a sticker on. Find a shop like that and your good to go or you can always pay off the tech to pass you.
Idk about texas but i know in Pa you need tto have a cat and pass a sniffer test as well as have no CELs. If i am correct with the right AFR (no dumping excessive amount of fuel) you should be able to pass the sniffer. (A stock tC is very emissions friendly by the way). You can make a test pipe for the cat or weld one in your down tube. And an AEM FIC should take care of the engine code, it doesn't affect the CAN Bus system in new OBD II cars. There are plenty of cars that will pass emissions and be boosted!
Also look into Dezod. Paul stated that he has had cars pass emissions in 49/50 states with his turbo set up. Sorry cali!
BTW was nervous too about this but i am pretty confident i will pass!

i live in MA , my car has been boosted since 2007. What i have done is reset the code. drive it around on the highway for a couple of miles. then park the car overnight, turn it on and with a cold start and drive it to the inspection shop. its all fine and dandy as long as the boost stay's below 0psi . that seems to work for me, EVERY so often the CEL goes away on its on and i make a mad dash for it. as long as the CEL is gone, it only requires 5 out of the 6 monitors to have been completed. so if you have a OBDII checker and its "pending" you can still pass with it.
