I check SL all day at work and I check the new threads. Why do you spend most of ur time defending ZPI? Your in EVERY ZPI thread on this board trying to stick up for them and im the loser? I could give two ____'s about anything to do with zpi. Good luck with the sale of ur car.....

Uh oh, looks like another one of those threads..
Cool down guys, the guy was just asking for tips how to make his engine and turbo last longer... and I wanna know too.

So..
1. Change oil
2. Spark plug
3. 93 Octane
4. Better with BOV and Engine management
5. ???

im not exactly sure, but something do to with the piston broke (maybe a ringlan or something like that) and it was just rockin around in the cylinder makin a kinda tickin sound...by the time i got it to the shop it had scratched the cylinder up.....im not sayin the plugs "caused" this to happen...but not long b4 this did i had changed them to the bosch fusion plugs bc the retarded guy at autozone said thats wat i was lookin for wen i asked for a step colder plug then factory....but o well we all learn a lesson and mine is costin almost $4000....

I'm a Giant, only need to move when provoked...

No seriously, you know just as much as anyone else that I'm all over the F/I section.

But anywayz, back on topic.

Stage 0 still remains a solid buy if you are looking for F/I on the tC. You can expect to have a WRX, S2k, 350z(pre 06-07 as the new ones run low 13's stock) killer when you add on just a Stage 0 to your tC.

PS....of course I mean those cars in stock form that is.

^^ to add to that, zpi stage 0 costs a lot less than other kits and gets the interest of most people new to FI especially those whos not planning to go aggressive in tuning... the completeness of the kit seems like a debate to some though.

Wow this thread went south fast lol... let us say this... you will need to run higher octane gas, you will need to change your oil a lot more regularly, a set of 1 step colder spark plugs would help, gauges to monitor what is going on that way you are able to shut down if anything isn't what it should be, and it sounds like you can run the stage 0 without management and without a BOV it... but wouldn't you rather be safe by purchasing management and a BOV now (safer and more power) or would you rather have something severe happen to your engine(not saying it is going to but it could happen)... the choice as always is yours Bravehearts... the way I think is that if you are going to do something, why not do it right the first time...

When people ask, I always tell them that you can run it without management, however, With management you will increase fuel economy (mpg), and be able to squeeze out a few extra ponies at a cheap price ($300 bucks for management). They then decided from there what they want to do. But as been mentioned before, it is not taboo for anyone running a Stage 0 without management. If that were the case, the Stage 0 would not perhaps be one of the most sold kits for the tC, not to mention having an extremely good "problem-free" history.

So here's what we covered so far on this thread (for bravehearts)

1. Frequent change oil
2. Step 1-2 steps colder spark plugs (iridium)
3. 93 Octane fuel
4. Check hoses, gaskets for leaks
5. gauges (know whats going on in your engine)

For stage 0 ZPI kit
(not required, but spending few hundreds will benefit you more in the long run)
4. Engine management
5. BOV

feel free to add.. hmm i feel the need for a sticky about this "maintenance checklist for FI"
or maybe its there i just didnt search enough..

i dont know why anyone would not get fuel management when going forced induction, any reason why is beyond me. and jus tbecause someone says its ok isnt enough for me. i dont care who says it, i would not sleep well at night knowing i turboed my car and didnt have it tuned to accept it.
