Turbo Sizing
So I have a few questions, for those of you have gone before me. Im currently running a 60-1 at 20 psi on my built motor / e85. Top end is awesome, but it is a little laggy. I will be replacing it soon more than likely due to some substantial shaft play (I bought it used over a yr ago). Im debating if I should replace it with another 60-1, or go with another turbo. I prob wont have the money for a BB so a GT35r or the like is out. Is there another journal bearing turbo thats reasonably priced out there that will still reach my power goals, but have a quicker response? Thanks in advance!
i used to have.48ar. it spooled great but didnt have top end. and i toped out at 370whp. kept raising the boost but couldnt pass 370whp. then went to a63 and spool is a lil laggy but not a big difference and i have alot of top end. try messing with your tune and help spooling. try adding some timing in early spooling. i've heard you can do that and spool a lil quicker. i dunno
Man on my .63 I hit full boost 20psi around 4200k. I think not sure cause haven't floored my car since the beginning of the year. But when I had my .48ar I hit full boost below 4200k but it was 17psi. I'm sure 8psi will be at 3.5k just guessing. I dunno.
Haha thats funny on my setup I hit 20 psi at 4150-4200rpm on my 60-1 with .63 housing. Now that i think about it, i spin tires anyways, so all thats gunna really happen with a faster spooling turbo is spin tires quicker lol
Why dont you look into the garett gtx series, the new gt3076r gtx is now rated over 600hp. Borg warner has something nice coming too... i could be wrong but seems to me the 6262 has gone more expensive than when i first saw it
