Default Turbo tC Wont Start

installed the kit. TT stage 1
once you start the car itll just shut right back off.
i have the stock injectors and no management; but the car should at least start right?

funny thing is if i unplug the MAF sensor the car will start fine in that "dummy" mode and run very rich. if i try to drive it into boost w/o the MAF the car seems to not let anymore air in, and will not go into boost at all
will be troubleshooting tomorrow...

If you haven't modified any electronics then it should start fine.

Have you checked all of your vacuum lines? Is it possible a chargepipe could be loose? I would assume it's one of those problems. Only other thing I see possible is a damaged MAF sensor.

Try resetting your ECU too while you diagnose things. If you unplug anything in the engine bay without disconnecting your ECU first it may cause a few codes and cause it to run differently.

Just curious, but why are you starting a car with no EMS or fuel injectors to support the turbo you just put on? Just curious to see what the reason was.

Good look with your findings and be sure to let us know!

I can't believe you would post this up before calling me! JACKASS!
Hey, are you sure the maf sensor is facing the right direction? We had the same issue with my same kit. The maf sensor was on backwards in the intake pipe, so it woudl just die. We flipped it, and rob held it in place (makeing sure there were no air gaps) and it fired right up.
take a pick of the maf sensor on the intake connected and post it up here.

Oh, and Like Joe said, did you reset your ECU by disconnecting your negative battery terminal first?

Oh, and for Joe, he wanted to install his kit and have everything done, and then he's going to drive it (out of boost) to the shop to have them do the injectors and tune with the emanage.
But our current tuner is in between shops, so he needs to find a new shop.

I'm wondering if you could at least plug in the Greddy and use the map off of Dezod's website?
To bad you got your emanage off ebay and did not get the software, huh?

It sounds like the MAF flange is backwards

When you can give me a call 480-510-4689

I could definately help you out...

Would I be installing injectors and hardwiring an emanage or am I using a plug and play harness (recommended of course).

Lol my bad I read your post wrong (busy over here haha)...

I couldn't come down to Vegas anytime soon. Not until SEMA time of course...

Is he using the MAF sensor for the tune or will he be switching to the Greddy MAP sensor. The MAP runs MUCH MUCH better for tuning and driveability.

Check all of your charge pipes, couplers, intake pipe (where it connects to the turbo) and your vacuum lines. That may have been causing it.

Any engine codes?

well i just flipped the sensor around and the car started. but since the sensor cant be plugged in all the way and wont stay there, the car runs funny
i need to shave off the screw hole threads.
other than that car is fine.
no leaks so far. couplers seem to be holding.
ill update after i take it to work to fix the sensor

alrighty.
fixed the sensor and the car runs fine. it starts up normally, no CEL, and it boosts like it should.
it runs super duper lean so i only drove it for a minute to test it out.
i am going to run without the sensor plugged in until i get my injectors and tune next week.
it runs super rich without the sensor. and rich is better than lean ya!

even with it in, it will eventually throw a lean code...mine did
i can't wait to see how everything goes.

your doing to dougs dyno, right?
in henderson? let me know how they are cause I need a retune,.

hey whats you guys opinion on a turbo tC having problems at about 3grand (rpms) 1) the car just seems to pause if you try to add anymore pedal 2) I'm running UNICHIP engine managment with turbonetics tune right now and 550cc injectors... my BOV vent to atmosphere... could this be the problem?

i was asking about with the maf sensor out. do you throw a code then?
and if you drive around a couple days with the maf in running lean, you will probably throw a code.
When you going to dougs?
