Hi Scionlife! I just installed my Apexi turbo timer last night and I am having some problems with it. I did not use a PnP harness for the install because I am fairly comfortable with wiring. I connected the Red from the tt plug to the Red on the ignition harness, Blue from the tt plug to Blue on the ignition harness, Green on the tt plug to Yellow on the ignition harness, the grey wire from the tt brainbox to the e-brake wire, and finally the black wire from the tt brainbox to a good ground on the chassis. I followed a diy I found while searching google. The only problem I seem to have is that the tt only works when the engine is below operating temperature. If I go for a drive and turn the car off, the engine shuts off and only the electronics stay on. I cannot seem to figure out this problem. I have checked all my wires and have tried searching for a common problem with the Apexi tt, but that yielded nothing. Has anyone had this problem before or know what could be wrong? Any input is much appreciated!

 

only thing i could think of...i have a knock off ebay one and like you i didn't use a pnp harness and used t-taps on the ignition wires. maybe the taps didn't cut through the wire enough to make contact. that was my problem. check the yellow ignition wire. if its not making good enough connection then that's your problem. also check your ground and e brake connection. i don't think it could be anything else? anyone chime in if im wrong.

 

Thanks for the input, but I ended up figuring out what the problem was. It didn't pertain to the wiring at all. It ended up being that the idle rpm's are too low for the signal to be relayed through the turbo timer and then allow it to keep the car running. I'm not sure if it is because I have a 2007, but I have seen some others have similar problems after doing some research. Also, mine is an automatic, so maybe idling rpm's are different from the manuals? Either way, all I have to do is hold my rpm's around a grand when I shut the key off and it works fine. I also have a leaking manifold, so that could have something to do with it since it causes my car to idle a little low. At least I found out some useful info in case someone else runs into the same problem.
