Default Turbo Turn-on

ok ok so ive read a bunch of posts and searched for times and what not but it is all scattered... and everything is real sketchy... not really clear on how good turbo is.

NOW for all u turbo heads out there:

1. What cars can you beat? (EVO, STI, 350Z are my main focus)

2. What are your track times?

3. What are your dynos?

And if you want to brag,
Whats ur special setup?

Yup..The tC is his girls car, I think I remeber him talking about trading the 350Z in for another tC. Not sure if he still wants to but, I wouldn't put it past him..

the 350z is 287 base hp. We got kits that are making from 200-300 wheel hp. Of course you can get a twin turbo for the 350z, but it still has those suspension problems I keep hearing about. There's a guy around my town that has a turbo 350z, not sure if it's singel or twin, but I sure as hell aint going to find out!

LOL...my girl wanted me to trade in my Z for another tC...

But I can't drift in a tC as good as a Z.... So, the Z stays. It will be on par though, will just take a little longer.

One thing you also have to understand Kinesi5, is that the 350Z cost double of what a tC does. This = DOUBLE THE COST in Performance parts/body parts/service/manitenance...etc. Unless you make some decent money, you will have a nice STOCK 350Z. If you go the tC route, you can build the car 10 times faster because the cost of modding it is cheaper.

My thoughts on driving:

350Z

RWD can get you into trouble if you don't know how to drive
The Z's tQ is what I call "Seat Sucking", as it puts your butt in the seat when you mash the gas.
Don't forget to turn off the VDC (depending on model trim) to have fun.
Get the "Damn" look from people when you drive past (especially if your young and black... )
Car makes you feel like "Damn this is Cool"

Turbo tC

FWD, easier to mash the gas and know your not going to end up in a ditch
Love rolling by people with their windows down, and letting the HKS rip right next to them
You get the "Is that a Scion"
You get the "Oh, it's turbo too"
When opening the wastegate (if you run open WG) you get the "OMG!"
Beating people on the road that underestimate the tC never gets old
You would be surprise with good driving, what cars you can hang with/destroy
If you have a C/F front end like we do, you still get the "Damn" look
If your wife/fiance/girlfriend drives it, she will hurt other guys feelings....That never gets old either

LAST but not least

Car makes you feel like "Damn this is Bad A$$"

Keep in mind, Opinions will vary once the Z goes from Stock to a Twin Turbo-Fat 19 inch having-Drift Setup-Sideways Slidding-Carbon Fiber'ed OUT-Make your G/F wet her panties-Kick the Devil out of Hell-Load of Terror.

All i'll say is this: When you consider the cost of a built engine + a good turbo, thats one helluva down payment.

FWIW, I love the tC and plan of putting that big ___ down payment into my car

Rhythym is right, the cost to own is alot different.

When I moved back to the states, I had the intentions of buying a 350Z or an EvolutionIX. I can afford them so that wasnt an issue.

But the wife said, and I agreed, if I got a $35k car, that was it and modding it wouldnt be affordable. I have lived outside the US for 6 years and had never heard of the SCION.

I looked at one and liked the looks, the wife said I could get the tC or the EVO iX (she found out the 350 was a 2 seater). If I got the tC I could spend money and bring it up to a $30K car. If I got the Evo, it would stay stock.

Check out what I drive...

Save ur money and just drop it on a 350z you'll thank yourself for it later. The Z is a sports car, the scion will always be a scion

thanks for all the replies guys much appreciated. I am just cravin for that out-the-factory 13 second track ready setup but now that i considered it again (with the help of rhythmsmokes vid) lol, i decided im gonna hook up the tc. Now i just gotta decide down the line which turbo to go with.... torn between all the choices. My boy says greddy is the way to go with turbos, some told me that turbonetics is ghetto (but from what ive seen looks real nice) and ZPI looks good but since they are so new i dont know what to think. But yea this will be my hook up car/project for the next few years, so since i decided im goin crazy with plans haha.

Ask yourself what you want and go from there. If you want a sports car then the obvious answer is the Z.

A turbo tC I'm sure is a blast to drive but it won't be a "sports" car.
