Not sure if it matters to you but won't insurance be a little higher if you get the Z. Being that it is a sports car. Just something to think about just in case you haven't yet.

Rhythmnsmoke, how many miles has ur girl put on her Tc, before it was turbo'd and after. I would like a TC put on mines but I just dont want any engine malfunctions.

I have a 350 with Borla exhaust and K&N CAI, and yes its very fast stock, but the price for mods, insurance, and gas, make it not worth it.

Thats why I'm trading it in for a TC, then turboing the TC, then beating a 350, so I will feel better.

Of course a turboed TC will beat an N/A 350z, but try that with a turboed 350Z . I have 3 friends with turboed 350z's and I tell you what. With my turboed TC I'm still no match for any of them .I checked insurance rates between the 350Z and the TC, and it's only a $70 difference for the year. So that's not even an issue. Turboed 350z's run high 11's low 12's out of the box with a bolt on kit. Try that with your TC . You are comparing apples to oranges. The TC is not and will NEVER be a sports car PERIOD .

I'm not saying it is a sports car. But I have Geico and they count the 350 as a "Super sports car" and I am paying about $375 a month, and with the TC, I will be paying $200 a month less.
Of course a turboed 350 is going to be faster. But it takes about 22 - 24 thousand to turbo a TC, including price of car, and about 38 thousand for a 350 including price.

Gieco insurance sucks ***** bro. Try Progressive, Allstate, or state farm, they all are far less than Gieco.$375 a month? Wow , your driving record must really be bad, or you are very young. I pay $1900 a year for both of my cars with full coverage and a $250 deductable with Progressive. Shop around, I'm pretty sure you can do better than what you are paying now. On a side note, my friend brought a 03 350Z for $18000 with 19,000 miles on it. He got the Turbonetics kit for $4200 without the bullcrap ECU flash and injectors, Brought a UTEC and 550cc injectors and had it tuned. He's making 432whp at 9psi with an 11:5 afr. Total cost to him was just under $24000 Chew on that for alittle while

If you're considering paying that much for a 350z, get an Evo IX. With ~1500 in mods you can get 330awhp.

I had a tC and I just bought a brand new 350Z about 2 weeks ago. It's still stock but not for long. I've got about 3k saved up for a turbo. Once it's turboed, games over boys... Your FWD will never hang with RWD. Just look at the platform you're using. The tC's FWD, 2.4 liter engine VS the 350Z's RWD 3.5 liter engine, plus its a 6spd instead of a 5spd. I hit 145mph last night on the highway in 5th gear at 6k! I was like dang that fast, and I still had 6th gear to shift into. Just wait till I put the turbo on. I know mods are cheaper for the tC but have RWD is worth it all in itself. It's so much more fun. FWD is the main reason I sold my tC. I hate FWD.

listen buy a tc and turbo it. Its cheaper and when u spank a 350 you can brag about it. listen i know its front wheel drive drive which sucks. i just brought my tc a few months ago for 19000 and soon going to be turboed by zpi with a upraded 20g and its still cheaper than a 350z. like munch said u can buy a used one that is 4 years old for the same price dont forget an 03 came out in 02 and for 19000 before taxes.

You'll never spank a turboed 350Z with a TC . I guess you can dream all you want bro. I have a turboed TC with a built motor and my boys 350Z still beats me. Don't forget that the TC only goes 127mph with the stock computer doing the thinking and about 130 ish with my unichip . I said it once and I'll say it again. It's just a scion not a sports car

I hope no one bought the tC expecting it to be truly fast but you guys talk as if the whole purpose of having a car is being fastest. In which case, I'd say save a few more bucks and get a Z06 and turbo that.

Just have fun, guys. When you start getting paid to win, then it matters being the fastest.

You get what you pay for. If you spend 18k on a tC and 5k to turbo you get 23k worth of fun. If you spend 29k on a new Z and 7k on a turbo you get to go 200MPH... lol ('i'm just guessing on that last one) But I bet it'd be within reach. You'll never do that in the tC. Like someone said, no matter what you do, it will always be a scion. I know turning it into a sleeper is fun, and you get a kick outa spanking cars that cost twice as much. I had my regrets at first when i traded in the tC for the Z, but when I kicked that back end out and swung around, ahhh! It brought back memories when I had my 1985 Celica GTS ( also RWD, that last year infact). So since I grew up on RWD, i had to go back. I don't know about yall but once you've driven RWD on a daily basis, driving FWD sucks. Someone said RWD vs FWD is like Good sex vs Bad Sex, and someone else said about FWD " the last time I wanted to be pulled around on 4 wheels, I was 5 years old in a radio flyer". Just my 2 cents but, you aint driving till you're Rear wheel driving.

Some people have had problems when the twin turbo the 350Z or Single Turbo and then tune it to put out 450-500hp with HIGH PSI WITHOUT REBUILDING THE MOTOR and UPGRADING THE STOCK INTERNALS. You'd be fine with a basic turbo, but if you have big plans for the Z, upgrade the internals, and you should be fine.

I just went and test drove a Z tonight, and they are amazing cars to say the least. It was an 04, and i thought i could afford it, but after my trade in, and tax+title=etc, it just isnt' affordable for a full time student. So, Im just going to tack on another 5k to my loan from the bank and try to boost my tC again because it's easier to pay off a total of 12k in the next 4 years, than if i bought a used Z for 18500 with a 4 year payment. But damn it was an awesome 1 hour test drive.
