Turbo Woes

Memback already has a kit, there is no reason to sell it to by someone else's.
Try actually helping each other out.
Even if he had another companies turbo kit, it doesn't change his problems.
1. He is dealing with Tuners that obviously have no clue.
Memback-
Just some advice based on what you have posted.
Tuner #1 : The one that told you to change turbo: Stay far away from. He obviously is not that familiar with turbos.
Tuner #2: The one that said you need to build your motor to make 300whp. He has no clue about the TC and is looking for more room for error= built motor. Stay even farther away from this one.
You do have more options in Colorado. Just keep doing what your doing. Ask questions. Never be affraid to ask them as many times as it takes for you to feel comfortable with the answer.
And if you talk to any tuner, and you tell him your goal is "x" amount of power a good answer will be " I do not tune for power, but for driveability and reliablity" we will see what your car makes and go from there. No reputable tuner will ever guarantee a power number.
Good luck and keep posting.

I wouldn't get to hung up on the numbers, but rather focus on how it feels. Does it have enough power to keep you happy?
If it does, no action required. If it doesn't take a look into some of the options above. I would highly recommend PTuning's turbo back exhaust. Also, in addition to some of the above, you might want to take a look into water meth. I think Ptuning sells a kit for that as well.

300 whp is not nearly out of reach with this kit. On a mustang dyno @ 9psi at Central Florida Tuning, it squeezed out 274 whp. Take it for what you want but that's really good for a bolt on setup and an additional 1.5 psi than the kit came setup for. On run of the mill dyno's, that number may be near 300 but there is no reason for me to tune for more power considering I'm ripping the tires off in boost in second gear. I don't have the best of tires in regards to traction but they are pirelli's and ride nice with great treadwear for daily driving costs. I'm getting a sticky set to put on the stock wheels for the track. If you've already purchased the kit, keep it. The fit and finish is very nice and I have nothing negative to say about it. Fast spool, very linear power curve, gas mileage remains great, 1 day self install, and a 1 year, no questions asked free replacement on any part policy. The other kits from Dezod and PTuning are great kits as well. If I could go back in time (and money) I probably would have ended up with one of theirs but since you are like me and already bought the kit, you won't be disappointed by keeping it. I called T-Netics and asked why they stopped making the kit and they told me that the cost to profit ratio of doing much more R & D to making the kit fit 2007+ wasn't worth it and the sales for the kit went down since they don't officially offer one for 2007+ TC's (majority of market now-a-days). Any kit you buy from a 3rd party does their own R & D to make it fit and function like an 05-06. I got mine from Turbokits.com and had a great customer/retailer relationship with them. They pieced together an F/IC and PnP harness and supplied it in the kit with a decent yet safe base tune to get you going.
Thanks again guys, youve been alot of help, im sure ill end up putting the kit together as soon as i get off the plane and see i how like it, keep yah updated as soon as its done.
Ok i know this is an old thread but i just was so excited about, what i had coming to me for a long time.
Well shes done, i finaly decided on a tuner that i thought was best and they were able to get me right where i wanted to be. 300whp @ 11.5 psi.
Not to mention they installed my stage 3+ spec clutch, quaife lsd, and the Tnetics kit itself.
Im pretty satisfied.....for now. lol
Want to give a big shout out to the guys at MacAutoSport Parker, CO.
Also thanks you to the scion life community, for helping me make a more well informed decision.
Id post pics but im sure that most of you already know what a Tnetics kit looks like by now.

just so you know macs dyno reads really high i would put down over 400 on there dyno no problem they messed up a board members car by wiring injectors in the wrong way all and all they are ok they have tuned a few other peoples cars if you want a good tune go to carz perfromance in lakewood they will do you right trust me
Kept the wastegate fully closed and got rid of the boost fluctuations I was having because the TNetics wastegate I used to use is adjustable and I don't trust it. I've never seen a Tial fail in any car and a quality wastegate is one of the most important things you need for a turbo setup.
My Tial MV-S should be waiting at Turbochargers.com, now I have to order the flanges tonight so they will get here this week. Then in November I can get it all welded together.
rang, that Tial you are using, is it v-band? The MV-S is v-band and they do not make an adapter that will work for Turbonetics kit. You have to have the flanges welded together. Did the Tial bolt up to the Tnetics dumptube?

Fluctuations while cruising is somewhat normal when dealing with an imperfect tune while using a piggy-back. It's just the ECU trying to find the right AFR it wants to see while the piggy-back is telling it what to do. The only way to correct that is to get the fuel trims as close to 0 as you can with a Scangauge or an OBDII scanner that can monitor fuel trims.
