Default Turbonetics Turbo Issue #1

Hey all. I need some help on this kit i got and installed.

All items installed as per instructions minus some modifications needed due to fitment.

Anyways...

Im having bogging issues. My car idle's very low. About 500-750. And sometimes stalls after a Rev.

Everything is stock accept the Turbo. Any Suggestions while I wait for turbonetics to reply to my help post on their site?

You need to get it tuned, that's your first problem.

this is actually a good post because mine was tuned and im in the same boat, very low idle. The stalling after u rev, not sure, but scary low idle. Which kit did u install? T3/T4, w/o cat ballbearing? If u did and turbonetics replies back let me know what they say.

T3/T4 E-50 Ball Bearing Turbo Kit w/o Cat. Bolts right on with tap mods only. Came with a pre-tuned Unichip. Supposed to be plug and play.

I read something about spark plug upgrade. Not sure.

There were problems with install as well... Fitment and so forth...

Radiator Hose #1 looks pinched but pressure is ok.

If you are running stock spark plugs, then get a step colder set for sure. And after that, get it tuned! I think idle quality has a lot to deal with tune and all piggy backs except the F/IC and the Emanage Ultimate cannot tune the idle... so it may be low, but shouldn't be dying...

x3 on the step colder spark plugs for sure. Rule of thumb is every 75-100hp over stock = 1 step colder.

Also make sure you are running 91 octane at least.

Lastly the dying issue may either be your blow off valve or something in your vac setup. If your bov is adjustable you should try tightening it, could be opening when its not supposed to and your maf already metered that air.

I got a hold of turbonetics. They said they probably will need to tune it. Since im close to them in SoCal. Ill probably have them due it. But there are tune shops all around everyone to tune Unichip.

It is a warranty since its a "bolt on" "plug and play" turbo.

Thanks for the advise.

I am going 1 step colder spark plugs.

And for those of you that need the number off 06 scion sparks... its CK20R11

One step colder at NAPA Auto Parts is 2382 or BKR5ES11
