what the heck is a bushing turbo?

There isn't a selection process, you just have to be willing to pay a discounted price on a kit with a bushing turbo.

You should do a little more research.
But I guess that's why your here, right!

A bushing turbo uses bushigns and oil as opposed to bearings in the turbine. This, generally, shoudl decrease the life of the turbo, and make spool up times slower.
However, when I say make the life slower, I mean, instad of running 1,000,000 miles, it will run 500,000 miles befroe needing a rebuild. And withe the newer turbos, the increased lad seen in spool up is barely noticable.

Oh, and they are usually about $500 cheeper! And easier to rebuild.

Bushing turbos will last a long time if you take care of them = regular oil changes and keeping the air filter clean.

Ball bearing turbos have the same problems bushing turobs due, so don't think that because you buy one its going to last 100k miles. (it will if you take care of it just like the bushing one)

There are big differences betweeen the two and yes there is that cost difference.

I was trying to put it into terms that he would understand if he knows absolutely nothing about turbos.
I meant, he probably wouldn't notice much of a difference between the two that would justify the price difference. Bushing turbos are better now then the use to be. And both will give you the power you want.

But I'm sure you went into more detail in the PM you sent him.
You give good info, and havent' steered me wrong yet.

I spent too much time at the dyno.....

I try and make a habit of not calling customers late at night and on the weekends(unless previously arranged)as we all need our personal time.

Customer finally let me take off his charge piping so I could powdercoat them

Note to anyone who gets a stainless manifold and doesn't coat it, don;t let people touch your manifold !!!!

You can see all the finger prints in the picture. This car is always on display at a local scion dealership and people are always touching it.

Todd, do you think that having push fans vs. the original pullers is hurting air flow.

I'm debating using two pushers like you are or just removing the large factory one and leaving the smaller factory one in place (al la chris rado kit).
