Default Two-step launch control.

So those of you who actually know what I am talking about,is it possible to do on our cars?Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I should note that I don't want to hear opinions consisting of "It will destroy your engine" or "It's rice".I want it for a legitimate reason, and what I do to my engine is ultimately my decision. That said,is it possible?

Its safely possible.....with a standalone. I'll be setting mine up with 2-STEP real soon. I'll post about it once I have it all figured out with the Hydra.

What about the launch control possible with the emanage ultra or a window switch or MSD ignition control?

You pretty much answered my question.I was wondering with the coil over plug if it was possible.Unless you guys are running a different ignition set up,I'm assuming it is?

Nope, stock ignition. To be honest I'm not sure if it will work with emanage or anything but a standalone with the tC.

With the Hydra you have to connect it to the clutch switch and anytime your at a dead stop and the clutch engaged it wont rev past what you preset it too. So you can rev to 4k and them dump the clutch and take off....hopefully.

As far as using the stock ecu.....not sure if its possile.

I know with an ignition interrupt such as an MSD,it does the same and will only give full spark up until a preset tach level.I think the problem would be finding a box that works with the coil over plug technology since most of the vehicles that need such a device are cap and rotor set ups.

launch controllers are used for the drag strip. I have a budy with a drag car and uses an MSD ignition.

What it does is, he can dial in a rev limiter when sitting at the light. He runs an automatic. Pull up to the light, turn the system on, FLOOR it. The engine will sit at the dialed in RPMS and sound like its bouncing off the rev limiter. (he also has a transmission lock) when the tree goes green, all he has to do is release the trans brake. car takes off at the rpms designated. It regains full throttle at a determined time and you keep it floored.

So pretty much its used to maintain launch control. To many rpms and you spin tires. To little rpms and you bog down. You need to find that optimum balance, and how far to keep it there before hitting full throttle.
The system makes it easier, by all you have to do is floor it all the way down the track.

ya norris' evo is extremely fast and obnoxiously loud lol I love it....

as far as two step goes for a tc, I dont see the point unless you launch all the time or unless you're a serious drag racer.....it does look like fun though lol

I just found out I have to buy a special harness for the hydra in order for it to work. Its a problem with our clutch switch. Element Tuning sells a harness that wrx'a and sti's use with the hydra's due to the same problem. Its a 40 dollar fix. I'm ordering the part asap and I'll post up the results. It will be fun to build boost from a dead stop.

There was a thread awhile back with someone asking if a specific launch controller would work, but something woudl not allow it to work with our cars.

But a standalone like your hydra or the AEM EMS should work.

It will work. I order the harness I need today some hopefully it will come in before it gets too cold here to play with the launch control.

The AEM EMS we do for the tC has it.

Fully programmable too...

Hard cut vs soft cut
Fuel Cut
Ignition Cut
Vehicle Speed Engagement threshold
Programmable Input switch

i bought the 6AL for my tc and was going to add the dual stage modual onto it. i later found out that the Emanage Ultimate has the 2-step feature in it, so i never ordered the msd modual. I will still be usng th 6al , but will use he ultmate for the rev limiter, seed imiter, and the2-step!
