wastegate dump tube

wastegate dump tube
I recently installed the zpi stage 0 kit. The open wastegate noise is loud and to be honest sounds pretty bad to me. I want to dump this exhaust either directly into the down pipe or try and run a tube to the exhaust right before the muffler. ZPI told me putting it into the downpipe will cost me 30hp. Has anyone on here been open and changed to one of these two setups? If so how much did it help and how much power did u loose?

who did you talk to at zpi that it said that if you rerouted it into the downpipe, you'd lose 30 hp? the turbonetics kit has a rerouted dump into the downpipe, and still makes the numbers its supposed to. i think the open dump sounds freakin mean as hell though!!!

I also prefer the mean sound of an open dump tube, but I've heard it on the ZPI and it does not sound as good as some others.
Would changing the WG make any difference? You know, like going with a different BOV will give you a different sound? Doesn't ZPI's kit come with some off brand?
I mean, the tial 38mm WG is around $200, so I can't imagine getting the one you have rerouted into the exhaust would be cheaper to do.
