i have a wastegate with out a spring. is it possible to get a 5-7psi spring and run about 9psi without any problems?

 

well...since the spring is what regulates the boost...i'd guess no, maybe you could contact the company that makes it and order one?

yea just get a 5 or 7 psi spring and a manual boost controller - the wastegate spring will define the MINIMUM boost you can run, you can run higher than that by adjusting the boost controller - as a rule of thumb you dont want to adjust much higher than 2x what the spring is set for - so with a 7 psi spring you wouldnt want to adjust your mbc above 14 psi

If he has internal just put an mbc on the internal wg - only thing is whatever the internal wastegate is thatll be the lowest boost you can run

the minimum isnt defined by the wastegate
the wastegate defines the max amount of boost without a boost controller

for example if i had a 5 psi spring, i wont start at 5 psi and move up
i'd move up to a max of 5 psi
