the way your description sounds looks like the injectors has gone static, full opening until insufficient fuel.. and that is weird to happen with the current fuel setup you have so maybe its the fuel pressure.. Anyway you know your duty cycle from 11.6 afr until it goes lean? with the original 14 psi tune your afrs are still good or they are now lean. How much fuel pressure you have?
yo mike i saw where it said base fp is 40psi......raise it up to 50psi......i was told to run it around 47psi.....your not throwing any codes are you?.....perhaps your blowing out your spark....but then again you would feel that like a misfire. uhm...thats the jist of my advice...sorry bro
oh mike....i also have one hella lean spot....its in every gear, every throttle position, and every level of vaccum....mines at 2700 though....maybe us southern built motor guys struck a string of bad luck
Hey man, I know this sounds kinda crazy, but put a new sensor in if you have a new one handy.. Those bosch sensors go bad quick with leaded gas expecially, I dont know if you are running leaded, but usually my sensors on all my cars do one of the two things.
Either when it boosts (since its using much more fuel than cruising) the AFR will be 11.xxx (most of my cars are tuned on) and then by about 800-1000 rpms later or less it will go to 14-15 afr's.. the other one if does, is it will go to 20.0 under WOT.. besides that its fine and will work regularly..
I would try this first.. but you could also have another problem.. but give it a try

I got in the car today.. and it was so pig rich it put out a black cloud like a disel truck in this rpm range..
