yea so I completely forgot to re tourque my head studs after a while. My fault, i knew better and am paying for it haha. Ill be pulling the head off today to check the block and head for cracks and if there both fine ill just be replacing the head gasket. if theres carnage there will be picks. luckily i caught it before i overheated or anything. just some white smoke and leakage of coolant. so 200 bucks worth of parts for a simple forgetful mind. oh well, ya cant boost on a budget

 

I'll be one step more mindful then that.. and just never open my engine up...

Hmm does arp require that you retorque after x amount of miles? Its going to be a pita to take the cams out to get the two nuts under the cam bearings.

Whats a good rule of thumb for when to re-tourque?

I still only have about 1,500 miles on mine.

most people do it about 500 miles.....or about 5 heat cycles. some dont need to do it though but its still a good idea. ill check to see how much ft lbs is on the head studs and let you guys know if that was really my problem. if not who knows. i just hope theres no pits or scoring in my block really.
