What is the difference?
So I have started the process of researching and making the plans to get turbo. I have decided on Dezod because I hear nothing but great things about their kits as well as their customer service. For me personally, I am not trying to build the fastest tC out there. If in the end I can end up with 300hp, then I will be happy. I want to start off easy (seeing as though this is my first turbo and I don't know a ton about them) and will only run around 7.5 - 8.5 PSI. This is a daily driver for me and I am screwed if she breaks down. So I want to take it a little easy at first. Anyway the kit I am looking at is http://www.dezod.com/pd_dezod_motors...on_tc_0506.cfm It asked about the downpipe towards the bottom of the page. What is the difference between closed loop dump tube and catless downpipe, closed loop dump tube w/ a random tech cat, and closed dump wastegate and catless downpipe and which should I get?
closed loop dump tube and catless sown pipe means=
your dump tube recirculates into your down pipe and the exhaust gases that the dump tube releases when desired boost pressure is achived will go out your exhuast vice and open dump tube like mine where it sounds like a train and shoots out the bottom of the car! catless down pipe means exhactly that, your down pipe will have no catalytic converter.
closed loop dump tube w/ a random tech cat=
the same explination as above for the closed loop dump. this time though you have a random tech cat (random technologies makes thier exhaust and some other things, which means its top quality). it means you have a cat, pretty obvious.
open dump wastegate and catless dp (im going to assume that you accidently typed in "closed" and not "open"=
open dump tube routes as i said above the exhaust fumes to where you have your dump tube going. which is always down to the bottom of the car and to the atmosphere.
open dump and catless is worse for the enviorment but less restrictive and can make more power.
the other two are more for stret drivability i.e. less noise and less illegal! haha
i vote for open dump and catless!! like me!!! good luck!
