So are there any options out there for our transmission to hold power? I dont know what happened with the Ptuning gearsets, and when I called unfortunately whoever answered the phone didnt seem to really know anything about them. Id like to turn this into a reliable 600-700whp car, and it seems the only thing lacking is the trans. With proper fueling the engine should be fine ;) Oh and Im looking for REASONABLY PRICED options. Im willing to spend a little money, but if that amount of money could also buy me a modded single turbo MKIV Supra ($40k sequential box) than no, Im not interested haha

As a footnote, PPG makes a dog engagement 3/4 gearset for the WRX, what about something like this for our trans? Because of boost by vss/boost by gear, 1/2 will never see the kind of load/power that 3/4 will, and I highly doubt in my application I will ever break them. 3/4 is where the magic happens and things tend to break, something like this would be awesome. Also with the 7800rpm limit and E351, once I have my taller tires, 4th should get close to 155-160 so I should never need to use 5th.

You should talk to MrC directly to see where that PPG gearset they were working on is. I know they shelved it due to supply/demand.

Custom is the only option. Expect to spend $5k+ on a gearset. ScionCREW will be able to steer you in the right direction if your serious.

Reliable and 700WHP will not happen.

So after alot of thought, Ive decided to sell the car for sure this time. I really dont have the time anymore to continue working on it. Currently it still sits in my driveway non-running. There is a hole in the #3 piston, it will likely need a new shortblock and a new set of pistons. Id like to sell it as is for $10,000 OBO. There is way over $10k in the car alone. If anyone is interested, please let me know - heres a quick summary of what all's on it for those not familiar -

AEM EMS-4 with custom harness.
Precision 6262
Tial WG/BOV
Full return fuel system with dual DW301's in tank and 1300cc DW injectors (good for ~600whp on E85)
Full 3" straight pipe exhaust with resonator
E351 trans / ACT 6 puck w/ Xtreme Pressure plate

I AM NOT considering parting it out. If it doesnt sell within a couple months, Ill fix the motor and relist it running and tuned around a conservative 500whp for ~$15,000.

Any questions please pm me. Im willing to deliver it for free within the surrounding states with a full price offer. Farther distances we can negotiate shipping expenses.

Found out my credit union doesnt want to loan me money for a second car so Ill be sticking with this one for awhile, at least until the Tundra is paid off in another 18months or so.

Well the verdict is in. Got the motor pulled and torn down today. Cylinder two melted the side of the piston. Def going to need a new block, new pistons, and hopefully BC sells single rods b/c the piston melted to the wrist pin and the rods siezed on it :/ All 3 other pistons/rods are good however the pistons do show signs of detonation so I had already planned on replacing all of them (pistons).

My only other concern is the fact that some spray for lack of a better word due to when the piston melted is all over the dome for that cylinder. Im going to pull the valves on that cyl tomm and see if it can be cleaned up or if Ill have to pick up a new head too

BTW Ill post pics later...

Lots of boost + too much timing = FTL
