Who had a blown engine that was FI? How many miles was it FI before blowing?

I have a 05 s/c'rgd engine that has been running s/c for over a year daily driven .......... .......... are the problematic ones blowing as soon as they are FI?

Also - i would like to know how many people actually fell into this "bad batch" - It appears it was only a handful

 

Most of the '05 where bad because of the bearing problem. Most went when ever they went it was no pattern. To be safe I think you should buy my ACL bearings that I have for sale.

 

Do you remember anybody reporting they blew their engine w/ the s/c?

 

I wasn't F/I but my bearings went twice.

 

Interesting - sounds like the 05/06 was a hit or miss (cause it was just a bad line that came out for a period of time and that might have been it)

 

'05 here and have been turbo'd for about 20k miles now with no issues at all.

 

I thought it was the beginning of the production run of 05's that had the bad bearing

I recall it being early '05 models as well. But I thought it was shortly after boosting, the bearing thing.

I was nervouse about mine, but i went and did it anyway!
Mine came off the boat in March of '05. Only boosted since July so about 2500 miles.

That's not the thread I was thinking about.
There was one that cynce posted, I think. Or at least replied to, about her 2 blown motors.
Mods just have better search skills then us NORMALL posters!

 

i bought mine in feb of 05 and have been boosted for 65k miles no engine probs yet (knock on wood)

 

I only had one blown motor Replaced my blown 05 with a sturdy 06 that's held up just fine

 

mine went to then they put a 06 tc motor in my 05scion
