I asked him at road atlanta about this he said its all the same kit its just how much you crank up the boost. He was showing us the tbc-1 controller thingy they have and all I have to say is impressive!

I agree, the high price tag is in part due to the manifold being hand built.

There will be another kit which will be much more reasonably priced, but we have to keep waiting for that one.

Well if you read on the world racing website they say that the 3 stages of the kit will have different things added! The stage 3 it said would come with internals! I would be willing to save the money and spend in the range of $9,000-$10,000 for a kit and internals that run off the stock ecu and gives me a hp range near or above 500hp! That is how much you would be paying for another turbo kit plus internals and still be using a piggyback or some other kind of engine management!

There will be another kit which will be much more reasonably priced, but we have to keep waiting for that one.
Will this kit be more affordable because it does not give as high of hp, or comes with less? Or is it going to be cheaper because they are going to be able to create the parts at cheaper cost to them?

That TBC-1 is pretty impressive. I have already looked into one of those even if I did a differnt turbo kit! but they are $1080, but from what I have heard it is well worth the price!

I talked to Chris over the weekend. From what i am being told when the kit is released in dealerships it will carry a price tag of approx. $6500. It is my understanding it will maintain the factory warranty if installed at the dealer. According to Chris you will not need to purchase anything else to run this kit. The kit is expected to hit dealers in 9 months or so. Assuming everything works out. This is all preliminary information. When I have more concrete information I will post it. All I can say is if this kit does end up coming out in dealerships and carries a factory warranty, I hope they offer a trade in for the trd supercharger because I will be first on the list.

It's a federal offense to remove a working cat. There is no way the dealers are going to install a turbo on the tC unless it's CARB approved... Which will be one hell of a feat for a 300+ Turbo kit. I guess we will have to wait 9 month to see what the outcome is...

this kit won't sell at dealers, it would contradict the sale of the supercharger kit and TRD.

But TRD is behind the kit as well. They have their hands in some of the components. ECU being the big reason.

You don't like the information. Fine. All I did was relay what Chris Rado told me. I think it's asking alot as well. Only time will tell if it actually pans out.

It will be more affordable because a cast aluminum manifold is a lot cheaper than a hand build one. The turbo itself is a new design of higher quality and better performance than the current kit. Unlike the supercharger it can be financed due to them obtaining CARB and OE #. I am so looking forward to this.

If this kit sells at the dealer with full internals and gives close or more then 500whp for $10K I'll be trading my tC in and getting this without a doubt. Add the LSD and I'm sure it will steal some of those Evo/STi guys.

for 10K, I can make a total monster of my car, I really don't need 500whp in the street. They would have to change suspension settings, and axles as this would be total carnage on the stock pieces.

I was so exited with the 500hp that I totally forgot about the balance a car should have to be able to be on the track but also be functional. It would be great having 350whp and a good suspension setting for it, but I see no fun in having that kind of amount of power when one can't drive it.
